Hello Ladies and Gentlemen
It has been awhile since the last Community Skinning Project.
To start off, all community skinners are eligible and encouraged to submit a WindowBlinds entry for a contest. Yes you read that correctly, a contest with the winner's WindowBlinds being used as the theme for the community project as the prize.
A few rules, only one entry per skinner and it must meet the established guidelines for uploading of a WindowBlinds. Since this is for a Community Project and we know the community still uses XP, Vista and now Windows 7 you know what we are looking for. The entries on a minimum will be skinned for Windows 7.
Volunteers are needed to judge the entries. One simple rule, if you volunteer to judge you can not submit a WB. You can however sign up to make themed skins. We need a minimum of five but no more than ten judges. I'm expecting a lot of entries.
When does the contest end, Friday the 18th of March. All entries for the contest will be uploaded to the WinCustomize WindowBlinds Gallery Library no earlier then Monday, 14 March (you really don't want to show your entry to the other skinners early now do you?) and no later than Friday, 18 March. All entries should include 'For Community Skinning Project' in it's description. Winner will be selected on Friday, 25 March.
Once a winning theme is selected community skinners will be able to sign up for skins they wish to make and get the graphics and start skinning.
What can you make a themed skin for you ask, if it has a WinCustomize Library you can make a skin for it.
Can there be multiple skins as in two or three Wallpapers or Logons, yes, but only one per skinner.
Can a skinner sign up to do several different skins, yes.
Only one rule for themed skins, they will use the theme graphics. The only exceptions will be for Screensavers, Dreams and Wallpapers. These will though have a tie in to the theme of the project.
Please leave a reply to this thread if you will be submitting an entry in the contest.
Ahhh, what are you waiting on, the contest starts............NOW!
UPDATE:
Skinners submitting a WindowBlinds Theme are: Vampothika, k10w3, Xiandi, CountryYokel, Z71
Judges: RedneckDude, gmc2, PCPrincess, navigatsio, WebGizmos, Zubaz, DrJBHL
By when do the votes need to be sent to you philly?
Get me your information no later than the 24th of March.
There were some really great skins entered. Hats off to all the entries. Good luck.I am disappointed on one thing. That a few judges voted only a few hours (or earlier) after the last skin was submitted.Almost like there finger was hovering over the send button. Maybe next time, have an official voting day planned. Have them look at them, over the weekend and vote on Monday. Just a suggestion.
Z71, the other entries had been in the library since the 14th so the only one they need to 'take for a drive' was your entry.
From the feed back that I am getting the judges took each entry out for a long hard drive to make sure everything worked. Also the judges have to the 24th to send me their selection.
Ouch! Bad pun [avatar]. Someone hit him. Please.
You forget: We've been using the other skins for days.
Correct....Doc gets one right!!!
Doc, will ready his shopping skills soon.......
Jim... Shawn (sorry for the error) Ross can do A LOT more with Ps than I can.
Shawn?
I can't make up my mind.
Well four of the seven judges have voted and I expect the three remaining are busy giving the five entries a workout.
So far the judges have said 'This ain't easy'.
And what is new with that?
Nothing.
tick tock, tick tock, tick tock
#234 - Russ (typo + old eyes) Ross... sorry!
*what was doc thinking?
Dangeruss? Is he back?
Ditto?
Did Doc mean Ross?
Seriously?
A typo? Yes, Jim. I meant Ross. As in Ross Fairbanks.
We good now?
Oh boy, the judges said they were having a time with selecting a winner and I have to believe them.
Five of the seven judges have voted and so far we have a tie. If we finish with a tie, and if it is all right with the judges, I will ask the judges to vote again between the two entries.
If any of the judges has a better idea please let me know.
Of course with two judges still needing to vote this can all change.
Stalemate. Here we go folks. Hide the breakables.
A "tie" from 5?!?! 0+5=5...1+4=5...2+3=5....3+2=5...4+1=5...5+0=5. It don't compute, John....
Ahh, how about 2+2+1=5.......
Rick isn't checking my Lottery numbers
It's only my opinion but no one is running for President. If it ends in a tie why not just have 2 community contest winners? There isn't any prize to give away here and I think it would be good.
