I'm one of the persons that aren't impressed by the current state of Elemental, but I like this forum so much I've never had so many interesting discussions on various subjects in such a short time. I spend a lot of time here, and would like to thank all posters for making it such an inspiring place. I think the number of posts shows that there is need for a good game in the fantasy TBS genre, because there are not many of them lately. And Elemental doesn't fully satisfy those who need such a game, because if it was really good and finished (of course there is always room for improvement, by finished I mean a state where the game is fully playable and enjoyable), most of us would play it instead of posting here
You speak the truth!
+1 for you
yeah, i've put far more hours in here than in the game. i think that between us we could put together a game with absolutely perfect combat and magic mechanics.
I know creating GOOD maps for any games takes a very long time... which is why I wish at least the cartographers table had more features/configurations. At least then I could bury myself inside creating maps while the game was improved/repaired.
<next turn>
I agree.
I've spent thousands of hours, for the past 14 years, creating & editing maps for Heroes of Might & Magic 2, 3, 4 & 5.
Cartography is crucial to confer to a game a lot of challenging diversity and replay value.
The current Elemental map editor is far too limited.
Truth.
I have to admit the forum is fun,and i spend more time on the forum than playing the game .
You're right...there is a lot of gold in the discussions here. It is an excellent forum.I never really thought of that.
I will say only one thing, the forums have not run "out of memory" yet
Maybe the forum was patched ??
before i ever buy a game i alway's check out the forum's to see what's being said about the game i'm going to be buying and i can tell you this, this is the best comunity i've ever seen for a game and cheer's to stadock for bringing us all together
Stardock proudly presents: Elemental: War of Forums!
Ha! It's certainly keeping us busy! I bet this was their plan all along....
At least I see what you need to do to get some karma.
Which reminds me...hey, did I mention all you guys are really great, and you dress really interestingly?
+1 for the reference! (assuming it was a reference to what I think it was)
Apes don't read philosophy!
Now we're talking. And yes they do...they just don't understand it.
I admire map makers.
I've tried it before, but they ALWAYS are either overly simplistic or ugly. It really is an art.
Thanks for the karma
There's one thing that I forgot to write in the OP: I'm positively surprised by the number of threads with suggestions how to improve the game, some of them are very elaborate, detailed and look professional. If the devs implement at least 10% of these suggestions, the game will be really great
More like Elemental: Forums of Magic
Elemental: Forums of Magic, Lovers and Haters Special Edition
Well, it's no secret that a solid fanbase is a real active for any game. It expands the game experience. Not only with fan made content such as maps, but also with suggestions and many different things that the fans make up
What is so impressive is that the fan base exists long before the game. Either we are crazy, desperate to get a Fantasy Strategy TBS game, or know where is the true potential
I think that having so many people here is a good sign. People knows that the game will be much better in some time. And that's why we are sticking here.
I'm really hoping 1.07 changes that for me lol. I keep moving the mouse toward the "launch elemental" and then vear away once I remember that the game crashes alot with 1.06 and I should just wait it out.
So many players and threads are mysteriously missing from the latest version of the forum game. Does anyone know how I can revert back to the previous version?
