Today seemed like a normal day, until I noticed in my mail; a copy of the retail version of Elemental. The strange part about this is that I had not ordered a Retail copy of Elemental, but only that of digital to which I ordered back in early beta. Also strangely, this retail copy contains a completely different registration code to the version of Elemental I currently have; would it be possible for a friend of mine to use that code and play elemental with me or is that code linked to my original somehow?
Whatever the case, I really love both the box and the manual.
You should make sure you didn't get someone elses copy first!
That would certainly be interesting, but the receipt says otherwise, and I would find it strange that a registration code on a Retail box be belong to someone else.
According to your order history, you did make a purchase for the digital+boxed version. The registration is bound to your account and cannot be registered to another user.
Odd then for the differing serials.
Thanks for clearing this up, I just found it strange that both registration codes were different along with the idea of why I would also get the boxed version since that at the time I did not believe a boxed version would both be needed nor did I have the room for it. :/ My memory must be getting faulty.
Edit: Never mind... looks like Stardock is already aware of the situation.
It's really not that odd that the serial numbers are different. (Mine are as well) I mean, a system where the printed package is matched up to the already generated serial attached to your account would be a bit on the complex side. What's odd is that there is a serial number at all. You'd expect that the batch being sent out from Stardock wouldn't have one at all. It's not like you need one. Perhaps they've just disabled all of the serials assigned to the batch instead.
