So my buddy has Sins of a Solar Empire, and the Expansion (Entrenchment). And one day when it updated it deleted it from his comp. Now his impulse has no "my games" or "my software" tabs, he cant reinstall Sins or Entr, but in the registration it says he has them, and it lists thier serial keys. To boot, when he does the 'send me my cd key' thing where it sends the list of items you bought through impulse, it says he has nothing. So then why are they registered to him? and how does he go about reinstalling them?
Click the plus sign at the end of tabs in Impulse. Choose add tab, choose Games, and his games will show up. Do the same for MySoftware.
well you see, PoSmedley... the Download Tab, the My Games tab AND the My Software tab, in which that option is located, are all missing on his impulse interface
'It'....does that refer to Impulse or the Game....as at this stage to me it's unclear which?
I still think 4 months is very odd....unless what you mean is you tried to do something 4 months ago...and it didn't work, then 4 months later you try again with the same result. You did say you had left it for a while....whatever the 'it' was.
I would have expected one email to SD support, along with keeping a casual eye on these forums would have had you sorted long ago.
Repeated emails to support will reset your ticket/timing and slow down a resolution/response.....the reason being that subsequent communications will be read as ongoing communications rather than repeats of the original error/support ticket.
Yea, they hide it right there... Under Downloads, and My Games. Except that if you not too daft to look at the image I posted, you'd know that I DONT HAVE EITHER OF THOSE. So stop trying to act like you know what your talking about... Actually, scratch that... Stop talking in general.
If that is it, what I said will fix it. IF that is the only thing and piracy isn't an issue.
Yea, four months ago I got it to work... (After having to deal with this crap) Then when it next needed an update, the game (to clarify) uninstalled itself. So I said screw it, I'm not going through this crap again. What my friend mean was that I have been having to deal with your support team in order to play my game for four months.
What image?
OK, let's remain civil.
People are responding here [to a member's issues] in an attempt to render assistance. Let's NOT fob them off and be unappreciative, thanks....
They weren't missing. You just didn't bother to learn how to add them or use Impulse.
So you've had Impulse for at least four months if not longer, since your profiles say you've been here for a year at least if not more, and haven't bothered to figure out how to use it? Or how to keep track of your purchases or your software? And then you come here bitching about faulty this and that and hidden buttons and poor support?
If you're going to use some 'stupid' service to purchase stuff through with your hard earned money, you should learn how to use it.
Ok enough of this crap. The problem I'm having is that my game is not being detected by Impulse. This is because it's not installed. It's not installed because Impulse won't let me download it. Impulse won't let me download it because it hasent detected that I've purchased it.
Tada ?
Yea,
Yup, ok buddy. Your a big help there. If you spend less time playing sherlock holmes and stalking the people your trying to make fun of, and more time not posting in my threads... I lost my chain of thought. Either way, I know damn well how to use this crappy ass program. I have only had a game through it for four months. I made an account a year ago, but decided against purchasing a game thru impulse because I had heard nothing but bad reviews about its functionality and customer service.
Needless to say, you can go ahead and stop talking out your ass anytime.
OK...next question [two of them]
Exactly who is having the problem/s...both now and then...you or your 'friend'? Third party communication/s do not help anyone understand the issue clearly.
Second Q.
Why cannot your friend post communications/queries here and thus reduce said confusion?
Does this mean you will not try what has been suggested?
If that is it, what I said will fix it. IF that is the only thing and piracy isn't an issue. When you click "add tab", doesnt it only ask you to name the new tab before making one? Not add one thats missing? and as for your statement of piracy. No it is not an issue. The copy he had installed was, in fact purchased from StarDock and they were digitally downloaded. he was simply saying that he was contemplating the idea of downloading a torrent copy so that he would have the game. And sorry that theres two people posting I was posting for him cuz i didnt think he was a registered user and he was a bit stressed over this whole thing so i figured id post in his name to avoid this whole hostility thing... then he posted anyway, cuz i guess he was registered anywho i kept posting because i wanted to try n help with the solution. he is, in fact, trying to play this game (Sins of a Solar Empire) with me because we always have great fun playing it, and i was hoping to play it.
ARE YOU FRIGGEN DAFT !? I DO NOT HAVE A VIEW BUTTON.
Dude, I can admit when I am wrong. A lot of this stuff and the way your posting it looks 'odd'. Makes me think you have a pirated version already. My gut says that's how it's all gonna come out. If I am wrong, I will personally purchase the 'Entrenchmant' update for you and apologize here. In the meantime, why don't you calm the hell down and try some of the things that have been suggested. If you can't or they don't work, hold off until Monday when SD gets back.
Click on the '+' button at the end of whatever tabs you do have and it gives you the option to ADD all the other tabs. If that does not work then you probably need to reinstall Impulse.
I (Quipster) am the person experienceing the problem. So I am the one with the problem. Just to clarify once more, I am the one so is unable to acess the game. Wilee posted on my behalf earlyer, but I am here now.
Well, I have entrenchment... But diplomacy looks good. Best get your wallet out So I have to manually type the name "My Games" into the Add tabs box ? So that's going to give me a context sensitive "My Games" tab ? On which I can do what ?
I have tried everything suggested in this thread... So don't think I'm just sitting on my thumb making witty retorts.
I have re-installed Impulse, twice.
I've now taken your advice, and created a tab called "My Games" and it does show up. I also now have a "View" button, but the suggestion regarding the view button provides no results.
Did you try clicking the plus sign and then 'manage tabs' to see if any of your tabs were hidden, like downloads and any others you might be missing?
They are all visible.
Have you re-installed Impulse?
OKay..the copy you have (or your freind) if I understand, is a retail copy and not purchased through Impulse?
No, it was purchased through impulse. It was purchased with an account linked to an email address which I can no longer access. To remedy this, I contacted stardock a long while ago, and had them merge that account with another one (this one)
The games worked until they had to update, at which point they uninstalled themselves. I have not been able to re-download and re-install them, hence why I'm here. Had the copy been retail, I would be having no problem right now, as I could just install it, add it to impulse, and play it.
Have you tried going to your account page and requesting an email with all your info (serial numbers, password, etc) just to see if the automated response came back to what you told them the new or correct email should be?
*also....are you able to log in to Impulse?
Click on the help button and then about Impulse and post the version you are running. That may also help someone to help you. As well as what anti-virus, malware, and firewall you are using.
