Need I say anything else?>.>
All the negative hype around this- I really hope this game bombs now.
Wasn't going to buy it anyways- so no point in me saying I'm boycotting it, but I really want Activision to lose money on this.
If Impulse was carrying this game- I would sign a petition asking Stardock to not carry it.
(probably as ridicculous as that sounds- and Stardock would rightfully laugh at it)
Competitive MP is dead in MW2. Activison won't loose money anyways.
I was intending to get this from the bargin bin anyway. £35!?! for a game I'd play though once maybe twice! So with this all I can say is, I'l probablyl be getting it earlier than I though, as this will "most probably" be filling those bins quicker than i thought.*
I found the last modern warfare a good single player game but I found the multiplayer meh. And by having peer to peer will probably be the death blow for this game, imagine a game of 20 ppl. LOL and demigod struggles with 8.
* I get most of my fps from bargin bins these days they just never seem worth full price considering I only play them through maybe twice.
It is my understanding that the matchmaking only is peer to peer but dedicated centralized servers, under full IW control will be utilized please correct me if I am wrong.
The peer to peer component will do the matchmaking and find the server with the best ping.
From my understanding this is not the same networking setup as demigod which does not utilize a centralized server for actual gameplay.

I play MW1 only multi, never played single at all except to beat the training exercise as good as devs. So no MW2 for me. Also no mod support? Lols.
Why the hell does Activision have to do this...
Yep... Well I am getting it for 360 cause all most my friends will play it... ya... I know...This is probably one the last few games I will buy for my 360 cause of my new pc...
Also correct me if im wrong but I do believe its for Steam only(from the articles I have read)... but I could be wrong...
No capability to mod?
No way to host/police my own server?
No way to choose which server I end up playing on?
Hey, Activision, thanks for helping me out so much with my game budget this Holiday season!
If PC sales slump because of peer-to-peer multiplayer it only pushes Activision further toward console development. I'm not saying we should all go out and buy the game to prevent this from happening. I'm just trying to describe the blinders companies have toward legitimate problems. They won't understand why PC sales were softer than expected.
I'd go buy the game in a jiffy should they fix their mess. Or they could throw out a multiplayer demo so we can see how IWnet works and if it's viable.
It requires Steam. I'm not getting it.
Well its on Steam and its $60! Way to kill it....
Actually, people have been bombing their boards desperately trying to get them to change before release. Their response was to close their ears and go 'LALALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER ALL THE MONEY WE WILL MAKE ANYWAYS'. This is what happens to multi-platform releases; companies work from the lowest common denominator - generally the 360 and its tight MS online restrictions. They do the minimum work required to port it to PC, end up with sub-par releases, and - as is common everywhere these day - instead of blaming themselves for pushing low quality, declare PC sales were low due to piracy and/or lack of interest.
Epic is infamous for turning on their customers like this. Gears of War for PC had some major bugs and online issues. Not to mention their 'awesome' AAA 360 title was medoicre by PC FPS standards. But no, piracy is what killed sales. Then they release UT3, which was universally regarded as being worse than 2004, at nearly the same time as the long awaited Team Fortress 2 and brilliant Orange Box set. Their fault? Nope, pirates killed sales again. They were so convinced it wasn't their fault they did exactly as you said: They declared they weren't going to port to the PC anymore.
Expect to see this trend more and more with big name publishers. That's fine with me, as it allows smaller companies like Ironclad to step in and start releasing quality PC games again. Instead of big-budget console titles with 6 hours of actual gameplay.
that game is better than any other game in the world i bet if u were a vido game desiner you would bomb on making it
What's that Josh? Sorry I couldn't understand you, you'll hafta take IW's big throbbing cock out of your mouth.
Fanboy's aside, IW has really screwed the PC gamers over on this. Ill probably pick it up on my ps3 for the single player as the first one had an amazing Story mode, but Multiplayer is not something I'm gonna touch much.
well for cod4 and cod5, getting it on steam sucked because steam was so slow providing the patches.
I think most of them there was at least a week or 2 delay from patch release to availability to steam customers.

OMG..on top of cutting dedicated servers, Modern Warfare 2 costs me 219 dollars(yes the standard edition) where I live. To put it into perspective, Dragon Age Origins(EA/Bioware) is going for 129. Blatant money grab by Activision. Activision is strecthing the limits of what PC gamers are willing to pay for and we as consumers have to send a message.
Please do not buy this crap! ANd NO I will NOT pirate this game either. There are more games out there for the PC that deserves my support.
Pirating MW2 is NOT the solution. Do not buy it or get it at all.
