I'm trying to patch the game up to current through impulse.
My home computer has SINS installed on it and a fairly slow internet connection (35kbps on a good day)
On the impulse app is simply blinks "preparing download" for the last 15 minutes, do I get a progress bar of a % or something.
It would take all day to DL if my connection doesn't drop out (cellular) and without any kind of info on it's actual progress I'm not willing to wait for 12 hours to find out.
Does anyone know if you can download the patch from a comp with a better internet connection(work has 300kbps on a slow day ) and bring it home?
226mb is going to take me forever with my connection speed.
For the progress bar, yes it does show up. As for the updating somewhere else, I know you can do that for MMO's, but I have no idea with other games.
it did finally show up after a half hour. I'm a whopping 4.7mb closer to done. It looks like it'll be an over night endeavour.
Thanks for the info.
If you have a memory stick 2gb or more, download it on another other computer, archive it, move it onto the stick then you could unpack the archive on the home computer
there is a website called impulse.anywhere.com or anywhere.impulse.com... something like that, anyway, it lets you download the update by its lonesome one another computer, then you take it back to your main computer with Sins and Impulse installed, then Impulse will auto-patch it for you...
im sorry i cant give you an accurate address, but im sure if you ask around you'll find it
i remember when i downloaded Red Alert 3 over a mobile internet connection... took 3 days to download 6 Gb... and it used up the max download limit so i couldnt use it for the rest of the month... =P
