I am eager to experience it as well, but let the modders do their thing. If they release it too early, the chorus of fans yelling for a release will turn into a mob of fans yelling at them about how it doesn't work.
I hear ya Weed_Warrior! I'm basically counting on this to satisfy my star trek needs until star trek online comes out next year. This mod honestly looks better than most of the star trek games that have come out in the recent past. The last star trek game I really remember enjoying was Starfleet Command 3 (which wasn't as good as Starfleet Command 2 IMHO). Legacy was OK, but was really disappointing in that they could have done SO MUCH more with it.
Anywho, I hope you guys can get this thing going this weekend, but I know you guys are doing this on your own time so I totally understand any delays.
Too true Moguta. As PC gamers we should know from experience. How many times have we bought and installed a game only to then have to download a patch to fix problems that shouldn't have made it into the release anyway, and this from professional developers who get paid for their work. As always the wait will be worth the inconvenience. [e digicons]^_^[/e]
Ya know, that hole that's growing in the metal logo plate up there reminds me of that metal eating substance that was on the klingon bird of prey that Cmdr. Riker spent some time on back in the ST:TNG days. Any of you guys remember that episode? It was eating away at the hull of the ship.

OK, a little off topic, but apparently we have time to Kill. Why not?
That episode was Matter of Honor, and was without a doubt one of my absolute Favorite episodes of Next Generation. Riker earned SO much respect from me in that one... I mean here he is in a Klingon mess galley of some sort, 2 Klingon Babes both checkin' him out, one of them grabs his chin and says "He's not very attractive, but I will have him"...
They all laugh and some MONSTER of a Klingon across the table say's something along the lines of "They're inquisitive, they want to know how you'd endure..."
Riker asks "Endure what?" And the Klingon next to him answers... "Them..."
And Riker.. without a seconds thought looks the Klingon dead in the eye and asks: "One... or Both????"
I almost died laughing the first time I saw it......
OK, now back to yellow alert I guess...
LOL! Yeah, that's one of my favorite episodes as well I'm going to have to go back and rewatch all of TNG again sometime soon here. Same with DS9, for that matter.
"All good things..." was by far the best and represented the kind of show TNG should have been from the beginning.
Yup... very good one as well. I just went back and watched Matter of Honor on Youtube...lol. I just really love how they show the "other side" of the Klingons so well... and how good Frakes did acting... Make-up or not, he was still in a very real looking setting surrounded by other actors quite literally twice his size... and John isn't little. I honestly wasn't sure I liked him at first, but this time he made it both very comical and quite believable. It was one of his best moments.
Now overall favorite episode of all of them, and this just hit me... it's Topic related!!! Overall favorite episode of any Teck, series or movie combined, has be a tie between either:
1) Original Trek: "The Doomsday Machine" It came out October 20, 1967... I was 5 and more than any other episode this one terrified me!!! It was one of the first real first "Edge of you seat" Treks...
2) Voyager: "Scorpion: Part 1" This is the first episode with 7of9, and my other personal favorite... it was one of the best.... hell, one of the only really GREAT Voyagers. Even the music track was ramped up to really give it an edge... and in it was Species 8472, the only species to really threaten the Borg.....
So why is this topic related.?? Because I was thinking maybe later down the road, after the Mod is all stable and running fine... maybe someone would like to tackle Species 8472, so the federation, or whoever, can get caught in between them and the Borg...
And if things weren't bad enough with this... something resembling a Doomsday machine has just been spotted out on the Rim??? It's somethng to think about for later on...
Was it just me or did any one else find the duras sisters sexy, mybe it was just there clevage. As we are waiting, come on lads who was your first star treck crush, mine was dina troy, and she seam to get better as the movies appeard ( but many more followed)
I was just a wee lad when I started to watch the Trek series and Voyager was the first series I actually sat through and watched. I would have to say mine was 7 of 9. [e digicons]:grin:[/e]

That's what i was thinking. Nothing playable... more something to add later on to fill out the Mod. Instead of a pirate fleet, just one of these gets launched on its own and begins wandering out there, taking out what it can in it's path between it and You.
Now in the original Trek it took Kirk ramming another starship down it's throat and self-destructing it to kill it. But I'm thinking another century has passed, so weapons are MUCH stronger. Now it's not so invulnerable, just really hard to take down. It could be a lot of fun, and add quite an element of surprise if one was to suddenly jump in out of no-where.
Probably not the first person to come out with this, but those Videos on Youtube of the dogfighting....OMG amazing! Great work guys! You are doing a fantastic service to the Star Trek community!
I must admit, when I invaded the pirate base and saw the borg cube, I was very impressed (and scared for my fleet lol)
Oh yeah... the first time that happened to me I actually got chills, sillouetted against the reddish skybox it looked so REAL!!! Then I just laughed because I knew the game was over... and just watched what a cube can do. It can be taken out... but you need a whopping fleet to do it, the regeneration rate is off the scale!!! The only way I could do it was sort of cheat and use Missile Barage to take out the rest of the pirates fast so I could concentrate on just the cube. Then you can hit it with everything you've got!!!
