Sounds like a pretty good update that it needed, but there are somethings I really could care less about like achievements, I do not understand the obsession with them.
It is all about braggin' rights for preteen and teen social groups. [e digicons][/e]
The twently somethings get in on the action via association.
Also known as E-peen.
Achievements are fun. You have more goals rather than just to play through the game.
REQUIRING Achievements for something on the other sucks... Like Halo 3 armor perms.
Most people aren't even obsessed about them but generally the idea is well received.
I used to think this when achievements were a new thing, until I played Left 4 Dead and (probably because of the not very high amount of content) we spent some time trying to do the achievements and it was a lot of fun and was a cheap way to increase the replayability. Mostly I just ignore them but in some games where I want to an excuse to replay once I've completed it's nice to be set some achieveable goals.
I'm an intelligent PC Gamer. I don't own any consoles.
I LOVE achievements [e digicons][/e] Made me buy Universe At War (for 9 euro though).
It's cool to have lots of difficult achievements on a popular MP game since others will envy you and go "how the hell did he get THAT one??! Kinda like I and a friend went when somebody had gotten "Sheng Long is in another castle" on Street Fighter 2 HD Remix (You must beat arcade mode without using continues until you're at the last boss Akuma!). I tried over an hour defeating Akuma but it just wasn't possible! He's just like Ruy but he got more moves and takes less damage since the difficulty went up since I never lost until I got to him....
I plan to get every single achievement on Battle.Net (except the WoW ones) to be able to slap my e-peen in peoples faces [e digicons][/e]
