ok so, this topic is very controversial, and i just want to point out some things and want to see peoples opinions on this in a constructive manner!the reasons why having visible items/mana is bad:1. you can bluff the enemy into thinking you have the advantage2. you can stop the enemy from seeing your winning strategy, e.g. others cant get better at the game, unless they do their research3. people cannot abuse you for getting the incorrect itemsthe reasons why having visible items/mana is good:1. you can counter your enemies strategy. this can make the game harder/easier(depends on situation) 2. you can learn from other people what items are good for each hero. people can also explain to others why they get the items they chose3. you can make predictions of whether you will win a fight or not before you engage(risky or non risky decisions).this also makes the game more challenging as it is harder to get kills(remember bonuses from kills are still quite high).if i have missed any reasons, dont hesitate to specify why.
note: "because i dont like it" isnt a valid enough reason.
i have done my fair share of crying on other threads, but my opinion is that having items/mana visible makes the game more fun/strategic/challenging for me.
what is you opinion?
Being able to see the other demigod's items and mp is a BAD idea. This would be good as a new demigod power.
Current standing:
For the idea of showing all DGs' mana/items: 2
Against the idea, but showing teammates' mana/items is okay: 14, one of which has a different suggestion (Shedding), and one does not specify if he wants teammates' mana/items to be shown.
Score is debatable a bit because of post interpretation, but this is the score as I read them from the posts. Seems like a pretty clean result so far if you ask me..
I'm sure if you did a poll about what was the most imbalanced thing you'd get some pretty dumb results too. Does that mean you should listen to the majority?
Yes some. The majority however would give a good signal as to what is currently imbalanced and needs some fixing. So I don't quite get what your point is here.
Generally: yes, it's called democracy. Not that it truly is, because GPG has the only final say in this, but in the interest of getting as much revenue as possible I assume they'll listen to the majority.
I would like to be able to see the gear choices of everyone during the scoreboard at the end of the game. Would answer the "WTH does he have on him?" without breaking the game. I'd also like to have a combat log, but that's a bit off topic.
You seriously believe that?
This game isn't a democracy - it's whatever GPG decides to do happens.
The people on the forum are never the majority.
Take a look at the Erebus nerf. The only reason it happened, unbalanced or not, is because people complained about it so much. GPG may have the final word, but you can't say that they don't base their decisions at least partially on the words of the community. If everyone banded together and complained about UB's spit(which some are already doing, sort of), then it would probably see a nerf.
If you say so. It may be correlated but you can't prove cause and effect. Maybe it *was* actually imbalanced and people complaining was a result of that, not the other way around?
But that complaining was the reason it got nerfed. The same thing is happening to HoL. I'm not saying that they are or aren't balanced, I'm saying the only reason they're seeing nerfs is because people spoke out against those alleged imbalances.
Yes, atleast if you take argumentation into account. Believe it or not but there are actually a lot of people on this board that know what they are talking about. And you'd get a pretty good result, not perfect, but a poll never is. They should however review argumentation, and not just the poll numbers.
Dude what the hell. I just said that in the following sentence, plus I explained why it comes down to a democracy. Why ignore my post and then post the exact same thing yourself? *puzzled*
Nope but they are the majority of the people that actually give them (useful) feedback. The majority of the people in my country didn't vote this month, but still the only thing the government has to go by is (the majority of) the people that did vote. That does not mean that is the opinion of all players. It will however give an approximation.
Now you are entitled to a different opinion, and I respect that, but why are you trying so hard to ignore the majority of the people that did give feedback about this question. All just because you don't agree with them?
You don't know that. You don't know that GPG's internal balancing testing or them observing the statistics didn't uncover these imbalances and they slated to fix them long before the complaining. You don't know if they listen to anything we say.
We could test it. Let's all complain that shamblers are overpowered and see if they get nerfed, eh?
You're right that I can't know any of that for sure, but do you really think it was a coincidence? In any case we're really just arguing in circles here, since neither of us will be able to disprove the other without a direct response from GPG.
I'd bet you 50 bucks it would actually work if we got a lot of people to complain about it long enough.
im for showing alies mana and stuff but not for showing the enermies there is fun in knowing that u are going to win the fight
