The option to quit when you are loosing, getting bored fighting an uninteresting and uphill battle or have to go for whatever other reason, should exist.
On this i think everyone agrees. So the problem with "Rage Quitters" is not a problem with people leaving the game, its what happens afterwards.
Now, as the game is designed to go on, replacing quitters with AI, so that you have to fight to the end to actually get the win, here is where the problems start.
This logic can be understood if for example there are several players on one team, and only one have to go, or want to quit. This allows the game to continue with AI, giving the staying player at least a chance to win. This i approve.
However this is not what annoys the most, the real problem kicks in when everyone on one team have quit, and the humans are forced to still fight for another 10+ minutes just to get the win, vs AI. This is the real design flaw. It is very boring and uninteresting to play "comp stomp" games if you are a competitive player, these kind of games are not what is sought for "multiplayer games" and have no place here. If one have the urge to play vs AI, there is the single player option for this, or even custom games if human allies are wanted. In competitive games as pantheon/skirmish modes offers, there should always be the option to "Victory!" as soon as all the humans have quit on the opposing team.
Just look at how this is done in all other major RTS games, (blizzard *cough*) and you will see what i mean. This solution is really the optimal one, and was invented over 10 years ago. And for how much Demigod does right, i cannot understand how these kind of small, unlogical, and greatly flawed design decisions exist.
There would be no complaints on "Rage Quitters" had the tried-tested-and-approved way to do it been used.(giving the "Victory!" popup after last human player on one team quits)
Yup, can't wait until they fix this.
I told the other team I was going to quit when I played a game last night, but I got chewed out and called a rage quitter, even though they had been farming our AI player, because even when you hit end game it sometimes makes the players wait 30 seconds for you to leave.
Of course, this WON'T stop rage quitters. The only thing it will fix is when dumb players rage quit now the entire team can just give up and save the whole lot of players a ton of time.
That is a good idea and one I think they should implement. The only problem I can see developing with this is that everyone may begin to use it to exploit the Favor system.
As for rage quitters, look at my post to see my ideas on it:

I've been saying this for a while now. You're not going to stop 'rage-quitting.' The actual problem is that everyone besides the rage quitter (especially the opposing team) gets punished when they do it.
Get the AI's out of there and give the winners the victory popup. Why they were added in the first place (especially in competitive play) is beyond me.
Ive never understood why it was laballed "Raged Quitting".If im playing a match, and I know 99% sure ive lost and im not having fun or I have other things to do, then yea, of course I will quit. Whats the point in staying? I say gg, well played - there is no point in me being here, ive lost. Once everyone quits then you should get the win. I dont know what GPG/Stardock were thinking when they thought letting us battle it out with the A.I instead would be fun. Its like in any RTS. In a game if your losing you quit. But people dont complain about it and call it rage quitting because when everyone quits the enemy gets the win.
The AI is a great idea when a crappy player ditches the game. It's not terrible compared to a bad human. I've had games where a bad human player put me behind. When he quit the AI did much better, got killed less, even though all it did was capture loose flags.
I've won at least half a dozen games with the AI. It's not as if it's an automatic loss.
Rage Quitting is just a term for quitting before the end of the game.
It developed it's name because of the emotional outburst many 'losers' give before they disconnect, or throw the checker board into the air for the old schoolers.
