This Armor Itches is a clan that will use Xfire as its primary source of contact.
This guild is meant for old and new players. I consider myself a good player at this game and am willing to teach new people what I know as well as welcome the challenge/benefit of veterans who know how to kick ass. If you need some kind of reference as to who I am, I maintain the Compilation of Demigod Guides v1 that is stickied in the Strategy Forums.
For those that don't know Xfire is an IM made for gamers. You can see what game your friends/clan member are playing and join most games with them on a click of a button. One click joining doesn't work for Demigod (sadly) but it does for most others. For games like Team Fortress 2 I can even see what server you are playing on, and the scores of the individuals without ever joining your game.
With Xfire you can create voice chat rooms for 50 people to use at a time, so there is no need for another chat service such as Ventrilo. I actually prefer Xfire to Ventrilo overall because I won't have you blowing my speakers out if I have my speakers turned up. You can just send me an IM and I will join if I am there. It comes with AIM built in and you can use that if you want as well.
If you are interested in a guild that is easy to keep in contact with and actually be part of a team that plays games often, click the link at the top of the page to register for Xfire and join This Armor Itches.
lol, great clan logo
Clan is awesome guys, and really easy to activate. Just follow link and you ll be talking with all of us.....premade games are 100% WAYY better than pugs
Are you guys in US or EU?
We have players for both continents, more US though. If you want, just join up and if you don't find it worth it, you can just leave, you wont break my heart
By this he means we not only beat on the custom crowd, but do our own clan only 3v3 and 4v4 games. Even did a 5v5 once.
It really changes the game when you can directly talk to the person that is owning you and ask him what he is doing.
Hey, I'm interested. I'm always on Xfire, and I consider myself to be a fairly decent player. I believe teamwork is the key to winning in Demigod, and have on multiple occasions seen amazing comebacks just by utilization of teamwork. Using voice is definitely a necessity for true teamwork to be achieved in this game.
Let me if know if it is cool if I can join. If you are unsure about my abilities we will play some games together and you will see I am a very decent player.
I personally prefer 3vs3 matches, as they seem to have the most strategic feel to them. 5vs5 seems too messy and chaotic in a random pub game, but maybe if played with a clan with an emphasis on teamwork would I change my opinion.
Anyone can join, its more of a community than a competative clan, but you never know what it may become. Use the link above and click "Join". See you when you restart Xfire and get the clan screen.
I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to have a competitive group of players in this guild. You could intiate trainings "programs" to help newer players out and give them a helpful place to go while also breeding them for competitive Demigod play within the clan. Sounds like a good guild Sean, I'll join!
I joined being a complete new player. Been playing with these guys and just having a blast. I agree with you Proto that some competition is great, as long as it's kept checked under the fun category, ie no yelling or putdowns of teammates. A training program or a series of instruction would be awesome to have and a vital tool for new players. I wish there were a tutorial mode where you can just play through it and get a better grasp of the game. Can't wait to play with yah.
I'm Itchy!
Wait... that sounds wrong.
I joined, hope to be playing with you guys!
Jumped in the other day but I have no idea how to use Xfire chat or it's voice chat, since I haven't touched the program for a few years.
If you haven't already, switch to the Xfire Shadow skin (it has a textbox entry to join specific chat rooms) and in the "Chat Rooms" tab, go the the bottom where the text box is and type in:
man this thing itches
Then click on the Enter Chat Room button (the big green arrow) and voila. When you do that, there'll be a popup asking you if you want to join the voice chat server, so click Yes and you're good to go. Once inside the chat room, click on Actions -> Save up top of the chat window to save the room incase you want to join in the future with a double click.
Or if you want less of a hassle, just find one of us on Xfire and ask to invite you into the chat room
If you have a mic that you want to use, it's usually a good idea to bind voice chat activation to a key.
- In the main Xfire window, click on Tools -> Options.
- Go to the Voice tab and make sure "Push to Talk" is selected and click on "Set key binding" to bind it to a key. Since you'll also be using this key ingame, make sure it doesn't conflect with a hotkey you use in Demigod.
You should be good to go by then. If you have any problems or questions, feel free to ask any of us on Xfire or on here and we'll help you as best as we can :]
Thanks optic. My motherboard died on me today around 4PM PST. It started with the internet not working, about an hour of troubleshooting and a re-install of my OS led to me figuring out that it was the motherboard. It's now 1:16 in the morning and I'm almost done getting my back-up up and running. I don't know why im bothering to customize it, I'm probably just gonna have to re-install it again when I get the good one back from RMA. Thanks for responding while I was out though .
We did an 4v4 all Oak clan game yesterday, showing love to our mascot. Penitence stack is OP. Would love to have more people join, could have been a 5v5.
As a note we generally all play in the same voice chat channel. We dont split off into separate teams in different channels. We feel it adds to the fun of the game to all be in the same chat and have friendly trash talk/strategizing.
Was great fun even if we did get wrecked
I joined, if you guys don't mind. I've seen a few of the other members around already and Stella* was already on my friends list. Plus, you guys seemed to be fairly fun/casual because I don't really want to be part of the HARDCORE! clans.
TBH, I'm an average player at best, though I've been working hard on improving and this is a game I want to get good at.
I joined as well, I'm always look just for games for fun, not win at all cost games.
Again, not the greatest player, but not the worst either
WEEE Oak Games FTW
r JOO SAYIN WE R NOT HARDCOREZ?!?!!?!
lol nah we love to have a good time and laugh a lot. I think that's the best game play =]
ill be coming by tonight, this sounds like great fun!
Out of curiosity, where did you draw the inspiration for the name from?
Well aviyur, Oak says it ingame like regules say, i believe i can fly.
He really does
