All i have to say

Nothing special on there yet, except screenshots (which are not that exciting either) and epic music.
In-Game presentation with Chris Taylor:
(both videos show the same stuff, but both videos also show stuff that is not shown in the other video)
noooo!!!!! ITS JUST Re-SKINNED DEMIGOD WAHHHH!!!
(ill probly buy it tho just cuz i like the series)
...No? You still build and have direct control over units, its just units are more upgradable. I still hope they have maps like in Supcom 1. People complained all the maps were very similar in that they were all country sides but I don't wand a game thats all urban stuff
New presentation video with a little bit more Cybran-Zilla footage
From that article in PC Gamer (I have the actual magazine) the units look nice, for the most part. My only complaint...why change the Fatboy!??! He looks stupid.....why doncha just call him Starfish and make him pink with some suction cups here and there....better be just as useful as before!
I hope that map that was in the video isn't the normal map. I LOVED the country side style open world maps of supcom 1 but that urban thing would be a nice change, but not a permanint one
That ubran map reminds me of the cinematic for FA, when the seraphim commander owns everyone.
That urban map strongly reminds me of Demigod levels. (with the sharply defined lanes and the backdrop)
But then he did mention that as an influence.
the new megalith looks stupid, i liked the flat one with 4 legs better, and there better be monkeylordz, they made up half the game. whit their giant freggen lazor pwining all annoying little tanks in sight. he he goooood tiiiimmmessss
also, i agree with the rest of you, i really hope that there are a mix of urban and countryside maps, but i think the purpose of the countryside maps was so that you weren't blowing people out of their homes, so they could make it E-10 instead of T, buts that just my conspiracy because look at cnc 3, one of the few differences between supcom and cnc 3 is that in cnc 3 you were blowing up houses, not sure why it matters, but i guess it does. or maybe it was the fact that in cnc 3 the word bastard was thrown around like a hakie sack... but ya never know
I hope it gets put on Impulse when it comes out...
I hope it will still be on Impulse. Would be cheaper.
There's a new interview with Chris Taylor here at joystiq:

It hints at using steam with microsoft live like DoW2. Definitely won't be gpgnet like supcom1.
dang, that would just suck...
agreed
Posting again but owell.
Some of you are not too fond with the cityscape map...well I think it would be a nice change from the countryside. However, if they are going to have cityscape maps, I'd like to have a cityscape map for each race....not sure if the Seraphim would be in SupCom2....should be tho
ok sounds alright, just sad that they ruined the economy system. the death of the old economy might just make me change my mind on getting it, i think that the economy and the way it was used was awsome, and it made more sense. I'm glad it wont be on GpG net, it has only ever let me on it once and only once, steam has been much more reliably for me so far with DOW2
The slight economy change is a big dissapointment to me. I was a hardcore original TA/Sup Com fan, and loved how unique the resorce management system was in those games. It really had a minute to learn, lifetime to master approach. The way you could manipulate your resorces generation and allocation to achieve certain goals. Switching to a full cost up front system totally kills how unique the old model was.
However, it's always been my biggest dissapointment that these great games didn't get the following they deserve. It has always been funny to me that games as basic as Starcraft can get entire gaming leagues formed for them, yet games like these with infinite amounts of more complexity just waft in the wind. If taking steps like this gives it more widespread appeal, then I suppose I'm all for it in the end.
New infos on the GPG forum, including scanned screenshot from the new PC Gamer UK article:
wow spooky youve got all the info, very cool, only thing i dont like so far is the fleshy dinosaur from behind, i think any other flesh type unit would be cool though
Scans of the new PC Gamer US article.
I'm not going to pre-order and 99% sure I'm not going to buy the game even when it hits $20 bin. This is total crap, Square Enix NEVER MADE A SINGLE GOOD GAME YET! Front Mission was the best they had and the mish-mash story and horrid 'upgrade the mechs after each map' system was bad in the first game, never got fixed by the 4th game. Looking at their past, if Front mission games was the best Square could do, then why did GPG go to them. All they do is make spiky-haired gay heroes do the 'impossible' with a story that doesn't make sense. Just look at their line-up, there's feminine men on the cover of 90% of their games. This is horrible news and I don't think it's a good thing to simplify any bit of SupCom.
Think of it like this, they simplify it to get more sales. But the game isn't the same game anymore, same name is only thing that still carries over. This is a money grab on a series, they can't say it's anything else without lying through their teeth. SupCom was perfectly fine as it was, a deep strategic game that require micro/macro management skills with good combat tactics. I would've been happy if they just optimized the engine a little and maybe added a couple units with a new campaign, I would've bought it. But we get this crap with Square Enix, and I will repeat, I WILL NOT BUY SUPCOM 2 IF THEY PUBLISH IT WITH SQUARE ENIX!
I can't express my anger enough over this happening.
WAS THAT A DINOSUAR? EVERYONE DO THE DINOSUAR!
Can we get the necro police here ASAP?
