Stargate Invasion is a total conversion mod for Sins of a Solar Empire: Entrenchment and Diplomacy . As of this time, there is no FINAL release date yet for this mod.
The mod will be built in 2 halves. The first is the Pegasus side, I.E. Humans, Wraith and Asurans, with the Pirates being a classified race at the moment. The second part of the mod, will add in the Asgard and Goa'uld races to the mix, we will even be creating a separate version of the mod as well, which will just be Humans, Asgard and Goa'uld, with the Lucien Alliance as the Pirates for that half.
um, i don't know wat the rest of that stuff after me "yes the asurans built the stargates" is. can anyone let me know?
Oh? Where/when was it stated that the Asurans built the Stargates? I quite watching Atlantis more or less when they canned SG-1 and planned to buy the series on DVD after it was done.

As for the stargate idea of the Vasari phase stabilizers, why not say the asurans can build a super gate as seen by the ori? If they can do it the asurans can too. This would mean that all ships can travel through it(not the starbases). I have one question though, will this mod be available for the regular sins and not just entrenchment?
We will not be building a supergate. The stabalizer doesnt work as a conduit, it is just a station that allows for jump from one planet with one to another, and thus supergates are out of the question. As for your comment about the Asurans building stargates, it is not proven nor disproven that they have or not, we do know that they have use of Stargates as weapons (see First Strike, Season 3 Episode 20). THe mod is only going to be available for Entrenchment, there is enough work as it is, dont want to double it up.
It was never stated that they can build the gates, just that they use them. In theory they can cause they are replicator versions of the Alterrans, but nothing has been proven.
There isnt really a way to do travel time with beam weapons, as far as I know.
Hmm are you guys giving any race the ability to BUILD stargates or are you guys just gonna have them at certain planets etc?
Funny you brought up the Asurans using stargates as weapons because I was doing some digging into info on Ancient satellite weapons and that ZPM powered gatebeam came up in my researching. I had totally forgotten they had such a devastating weapon.
It would be utterly ridiculous if you guys could somehow incorporate something like that into their planet bombardment. Something to the effect that none of their ships can do planet bombardment but certain ships (or all their capitals) can modify the local stargate to do the bombardment, assuming you are putting stargates in each planet by default or I guess you could have the Asurans build stargates and then use them for bombardment. I realize this probably has a lot of logistical hang-ups and balancing issues but man would it be cool!
No race will BUILD stargates, they will be artifacts on planets. The only "buildable" stargates are the ones attached to the Super Satellite weapon, and the Fighter Defense station.
I dont think there is a way to use the stargates on planets to attack them, like in SG1 or SGA. Being that we are going to have the stargates as artifacts, this wouldnt really work. As for the way the ships attacking planets works... we havent fully decided that yet when it comes to the Asurans.
also are you adding the sound effects from the seris, like when the asgard beem fiers or the wraith plazma wepons etc?
yes we will be doing custom sounds.
about the travel speed on the asgard beem, coud you not youse the file for the rocket or some ting like that and change the animation?

Beam weapons work differently then missiles, and I have tried something like that, but unfortunitly... it doesnt work.
You could always make it a projectile with a huge trail that goes away after a certain length of time. That's what Volition did for the Lucifer's beams in Freespace 1.
I tried this at one point, it never looked good... I could give it another shot, but there is no gaurentees
and if that woud work they cod make the beem more powerfool to by not having it on a 100% accuresy. sorry for any typos

this is what it currently looks like. Im trying to think how I can make the new version of it, as soon as i have something worthy of showing, I will be sure to post about it.

well....i don't want to be rude ...but .... i think the flares from the railguns are way to big....and i don't like the smoke from the rockets.... maybe thiner smoke....i believe you want to make it black....not like the smoke from the game right....maybe you could make it like the original...size-like...but black...
Paper-Boy... if you have been following the mod, then you should know already that A the flares have been reduced severely, B the smoke for the rockets has been fixed, and is grey (look at the picture of the excaliburs missiles)

anyway...i don't know if you go there...but there is a website on which there are many 3d graphicians...or how you call them...and i have seen a lot of interesting stuff.... but i don't know if i am alowed to post links here...

I made my own Deadalus ship, but i dont move forward one step in the texturing. When i make a UV map my object is a whole mess, i dont dont know why. Somebody PLS help
I am on that site as well, and that is a good pic. I havent changed them back, and wont. That pic is months old, before updating to Entrenchment, so I have changed that in the current build of the mod.
Have you tried using the Documentation that the Devs released? Which program are you using?
Can you make a mod that can play the Prometheus or the Daedalus as a Mod, so we can at least play with that one ship in the game?
