You have dared to enter the lair of the most ferocious predators in the galaxy! It is the ulitmate destiny of the Kzinti to conquer the other civilizations of the galaxy, subjugate and enslave any who may prove useful to us, and devour the rest. The Fanged God has ordained that this is how it will be.In just 26 octals of days (7 months or so...Kzinti count in base 8), the Kzinti Empire rose from obscurity, to #1 on the Metaverse. With the blessings of the Fanged God, we have remained dominant for 100s more octals of days since that auspicious day. We leapt past the other empires, and our mighty domain now encompasses over 32 million more light years than the second most powerful empire. The most recent Galactic Map data shows that we have subjugated over 45% of the galaxy. Many warriors from the old and dying empires have joined us, to avoid being eaten along with the rest. We hunger to establish indefinite supremacy over all the inferior sentient species...
We have also been #1 on the AltMeta for over 3 years running. The Empire grows more powerful with each passing day as new conquests are won, and more warriors join us in our inevitable rise to rule the galaxy! The Kzinti are a species of bipedal space-faring feline predators, who love nothing more than conquest and battle. Created by sci-fi writer Larry Niven, the Kzinti have had many stories written about them, most notably in the Man-Kzin Wars series of books. They have also shown up in the Star Trek universe, and a number of other realities.
"Kzinti flesh has a very strong and pungent taste. The weak among us are devoured by their litter-mates within a few moons of birthing. Only the swiftest and most ferocious of us survive to their first naming-day. Those not fit to survive will never live to perpetuate their inferior bloodlines. This is the natural law of the galaxy." - Kzinti Warrior
"The meaning of life is the hot blood of your prey on your tongue, the meat that rends beneath your teeth, the corpse of your enemy left in the sun for the carrion eaters to finish, your defeated foe groveling in submission before you. That is what life is. We are the Kzinti, and we stronger, swifter, wiser, and more ferocious than any other race ever was or will be." - Kzinti philosopher
If your claws can grasp it, then it is rightfully yours. - Kzinti proverbA salute to all those heroic t'kzintar who have made this empire a resounding success. Our conquests continue and the galaxy will never know peace!Join the Kzinti in our quest for galactic dominance, or become our prey…

Sentient species taste better...
Hi all, just thought is snoop around the old forums for a bit and see whats new, if anything. Thought maybe the addition of GC2 to steam might liven things up a bit, have to watch, but have any of you guys seen an MV increase?
In any case, hope all the old hats are well!
Hey Neilo. No, I havent seen any real difference in the Metaverse as of late. New players here and there, but not any more than usual.
The ToE forums do not exist anymore? Or maybe the link in your thread is pointing to the wrong place?
Hi KP!No, the forums are gone. it was a paid forum and renewal time was upon us, and we had zero activity, so time to move on. i backed them up and when the time comes (read that as GC3 ever being released) we will set it all back up again. Everyone has gone their own way, and im in need of a community so i thought id start coming back round here and see who was about. Any games anyone is playing that has a good community? I've just started Anno 2070, but haven't checked out the forums, i was into SC2 for some time, but we all know what the blizzard forums are like, far too hard core for me!
Ill be around for a bit, if i can sort out my impulse issues i might even play some GC2.
be well [e digicons][/e]
Indeed no increase in Metaverse usage but lately I have seen more questions from new players, so it seems there are still people discovering GalCiv II.
I have noticed more GC2 specific threads. Shame of it all is, iv'e forgotten more about the game then i care to admit, so i can't even partake in GC2 discussions!
You're telling me...I've forgotten more than most of the new players will ever know.
It's coming back, but it sure does take time.
Also, DA doesn't have that many planets.
750 is generally perceived to be the norm on a Gigantic all-abundant, although it can be as low as 700ish.
As I recall, earlier versions of DA (1.6ish?) did have more planets-I wasn't around then, though.
DA 1.8G. I have it archived. [e digicons][/e]
I lost my archiving ability when Impulse password-protected them because I have a space in my name.
Such facepalm coding.
Not to mention I can't access my hard drive due to my desktop still being dead.
Did 1.8G really have that many planets? I didn't remember that.
Yup, we had many a discussion in the TOE forums when DA 2.0 came out (i think that was the next update after 1.8g), anyway, when 1.8g was superseded and the planet count was culled we discussed is it fine to never update and use the version of the game with the most planets. I guess we were looking at it from a "is this in the spirit of the MV" point of view. IIRC we pretty much concluded that as long as everyone knows they dont have to update and that the MV would keep on accepting older versions, you could play 1.0 if you so felt.
So many of us archived and never updated.
Another similiar discussion we had was about the MCC. remember when it had a 100% econ bonus, or still might in DA. We again said should we keep playing with it, or play with the nerfed version. i dont recall the details as such, maybe its just in TA that the nerf came in, but anyway, both topics were greatly discussed.
And now as i type this SS, i think it might have been 1point8C. I'd have to check my archives, i do recall 1point8C being buggy though, but i don't recall why. Pathfinder maybe??I'm going to reinstall GC2 and play a game or two, but i'll "play" not work at it so maybe a giga abundant all and colonize the hell out of it!
1.8e was the fleet bug, I remember that from repeatedly having to tell new players about it.
The MCC change is a TA change, and in fact I believe a TA 2.x change.
But it is one of the reasons I still prefer DA-not to mention that there aren't as many filler techs, and research both doesn't cost as much initially per XML cost, as well as doesn't inflate as much.
Oh, and my Tech Capital actually doubles planetary research in DA, instead of functioning as a planetary/racial bonus in TA 2.x. Seems downright silly to me, especially as with the Suicidal research bonus it's not as effective as DA's version...
Although I think my reluctance to give up the econ MCC is not so much that I need it, but that I have no idea how to fit the new one into any of the strategies that I employ-I've never been one for influence victories, in whole or in part-and as everything was designed to be slower in TA, it's not really well suited for it.
Quoting Neilo, reply 3953 I've just started Anno 2070
I haven't checked out Anno 2070 but I got hold of a copy of Distant Words - Lengends. I like the way the planets move around the sun in top view and the Character bonuses, that is a plus!
Somebody should put all the best of parts of 4x games into super game where the planets moved around the sun and the galaxy moved around the center and also in 3D plus 4x. [e digicons]rool:[/e]
Happy New Year!
We are looking for players to join to become aggressive Admirals to lead your fleets across the Galaxy!
Empress Saint Mina of Ophelia VII of Order of the Bloody Rose of Orders Militant of Adepta Sororitas
This. Really, who wants to win via influence? And even If you do, the methods you would use would make it extra baggage anyway. All Your post and more is why i have never embraced TA for MV. All my mods are TA based (not that it's finished at all), but MV play was strictly DA, save for maybe the odd ZYW or two.
Well I've been mainly playing Lord of the Rings Online, with a ZYW here and there, still trying to increase my record a bit. An MMORPG is not really my genre, but some of my friends play, and it is now free-to-play. I've been having a good time with it, but might be done with it soon.
They never did "fix" the MCC in any DA version...it still has the 100% econ bonus.
Like i said, nothing in the score dept, but man it was great to play a normal game.
I'm going to be playing SW:TOR just as soon as its released in Oz, but i have other games i'm getting into, Anno 2070 specifically.
But of all the game communities ive joined, none are as good as Stardocks. So i'm going to continue to play GC2 from time to time, if for nothing else to keep me around here.
Just wondering about how the kzin used 1/1 tiny fighters (shills) in their high score games, if at all. Motti and myslef were discussing their usefulness in the ToE thread and i was curious how you guys went about them.
I was never able to get that to work reliably, and I dont think other Kzin used it as standard procedure either. I found trading techs away to be more than sufficient for the most part.
I just downloaded Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, but I'm kind of lukewarm about it so far. I'm not fond of the user interface for one.
Ask Zree-Ritt about getting over 200,000 scores in 0 years. Maybe he can help out?
We are in battle over the 14th place star system, well so far Zree-Ritt is winning the battle against my fleets. He sits with a slow but strong fleet so I have to hit and run because I can't go toe to toe with his ships. My ships are faster but I'm taking more damage. After each battle I have to regroup in the 15th place star system and then attack again. I fight a good fight! Good Hunting Zree-Ritt!
Ohh, i was'nt looking for scoring tips, the games i play now are pure fun, it was just a conversation Motti and myself were having. hope your battle goes well, im hoping to start a new game, a medium 9 AI suicidal game this weekend, should be a challenge!
Not sure if this has been said before, but obviously this universe lacks Lyrans
Hi KaiLae. Well, I am more familiar with the Kzinti from their home universe of Known Space, by Larry Niven, rather than in the Trek universe. So I am not well versed on the Lyrans. Roddenberry and Niven were friends, which is why the Kzinti showed up in Star Trek. I read that if "Enterprise" had continued for one more season, the Kzinti would have made an appearance...to bad it ended.
There are many books from Known Space, if you are interested.
As opposed to Unknown Space.
Dropping by, saying "hello", and returning back to the Twisting Nether from whence I came. Until GC3 friends (because I seem to recall that KP and I have a Klingon Empire to get up and running )-Silver-
May I run this by you all and then you all can chew on the bone! Tell me what you think?
I know you are looking for different ways to play but have you ever consider playing as a good. If you wanted to, you may take a new or low level character and join my little Empire.
My goal is being active, not the score itself, anyway you may remove your character any time you want because it will not bother me one way or another. [e digicons][/e] Also it would help me to get some answers on how to improve on my longer games as being good and not my one hour cheese games ( with help of AutoHotKey) I have been playing, Your insight on the game is a lot better than mine and the advice would help the new players on my empire thread running as good characters plus the activity would be a bonus for both of us.
Maybe by doing this will stir up much needed talk.
