The Metaverse was shocked today to learn that Theoden of Rohan, a Councilmember in the Fellowship of the Ring empire, had decided to strike out on his own and find his own way. Sources close to the Fellowship say Theoden had been planning a departure for a while, but did so under extreme regrets. It has been learned that Theoden obtained colony materials from the Fellowship in order to spread the ideals of the One Ring to all the galaxy. In a farewell message to Theoden, Emperor Ray the Wanderer wrote "A new start could very well inject new excitement and impetus that is much needed into today's Metaverse. You have my fullest blessing and I wish you many more months of fun ahead."

Theoden's departure led to a drop in the Fellowship's lead over third place European Alliance. Merely 110,000 points separate the followers of the One Ring from the Euros. The Fellowship also crept even further away from first place Special Forces. Theoden's new venture, The Galactic Guardians, entered the Metaverse standings in 18th place. The Mid-Western Confederation has been extremely silent for some time now. Only Emperor surther has been seen in the past several days, leading some in the Metaverse to wonder about the future of the farmers empire. The MWC is currently under attack by the Jedi Republic, who released a statement regarding their new activity increasing policy. Dubbed Project Rejuvination, the Jedi hope to increase activity and interest in their empire.
