I'm having an issue where when I can't seem to figure out how to display the "recent files" option if I use the Window 7 classic style.
It used to work, but when I had to wipe my PC a few weeks ago and reinstall everything, it all disappeared
I will give an few examples:

But here is it working under Windows 11 with nothing changed, other than just choosing this menu option:

I apologize, I meant to put this under the start menu option. Somehow I accidentally put it under General. If it needs to be moved I can recreate it over there.

Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, from what I know, there is no "Show recent documents" on Windows 7/Modern style on your left panel. But, there is an option to show Show most used application. Refer my screenshot below for that option.
And, you can add "Recent used item" on your right side panel/Quick access shortcuts with this option.

I guess it was observer error before that I thought that I used to see it. Ok, I may do that, it made it easier to open word documents that I had been working on before when word opened up, but it's not showing in the list so I have to go the long way to open it each time.
