I was going through some posts on WC forums - some old, some new - and was filled suddenly with an overwhelming sense of sadness. The passage of time has always made me inwardly panic. I've always had a bad relationship with it. Time never defers, it doesn't slow, pause, or wait for anyone. It just continues. Even as a child this idea would fill me with such a deep sense of existential dread.
And I always wonder how people are (genuinely) doing. I'd love to hear how you're all doing - what projects you might have on the go - what's inspiring you lately - what music tops your list right now.
How are you all?
Well hi Matchbook! Good to see you here again! Just been designing Windowblinds skins as always on my end and putting them up on my own web site and here on WC. Gives me something to do. Again, welcome back! 🙂
Dunno about 'all' but most of me is OK.
This time last year I was in hospital after losing an argument with a pothole on my bike... broken collarbone and tibia.
Arguably I'm better one year later.
Music-wise... week before last I was front row at Jesus Christ Superstar.... seemed better than the first time I saw it in the early seventies. Yesterday I booked tickets for 3rd row at Hair this November.... hopefully it too will be better than the first time....
Don't fret living through the passage of time...as it's way better than the alternative...
I'm doing great Matchbook, thanks for asking. Hope all is well with you and yours. I'm enjoying retirement and having fun. Turning 68 next month. Got a couple of skydives planned for this summer and went to the archery range a couple of days ago. Music? Been to a few concerts lately, checked out Lakeside, The Manhattans and the Ohio Players on one ticket. Walter Egan, Firefall and Atlanta Rhythm Section, John Waite, Styx and Foreigner, Chicago with Earth, Wind and Fire, The Whispers, Patti LaBelle, I also went to my first Opera Pirates of Penzance. I love all music, especially the old stuff. But I'm cool with some of the new stuff. At this time I'm rockin' Train Kept A Rollin' by Aerosmith and Icky Thump by The White Stripes!! Happiness is the journey not the destination.

Thanks for asking. Hope you're well, Matchbook. Survived the recent contretemps, so moving to a new house in a couple of months...sorting, packing, giving stuff away, making boxes.
Here's a pano from the balcony (neighbors extreme left and right...west-to the left- the Mediterranean...straight ahead in the distance Lebanon...sorry, no missiles today, foreground- Ma'alot-Tarshicha, right - east- Mt. Hermon in the far distance but you can't see it...sorry)
Less than successful back surgery two years ago, so physiotherapy...lotsa fun and Bengay - smelling like a mint farm.
Music? Well, listening to lots of John Williams' themes and Stones, atm...while making boxes. And more boxes.
Did I mention making boxes?
I'm getting by Matchbook. Still working, part time. Haven't seen a band play live since this past fall. The Dickies. I'm an old Punk Rocker. Just getting over a lot of dental work. Things start wearing out when you hit 73. The family is doing alright. Good to see you back.

At 80 years OLD I can tell you that while getting old is better than the alternative, some days the margin of better is tissue paper thin.
I go back to the early days of OS/2 and am still here. So I guess things are OK with me.
All things considered I'm still here.
I have a box on the shelf just behind my Dalek money box [and below my Stardock mug] ...
