I recently experienced a problematic event when people think my posts are AI, I am a bot and therefore does not respond. I am trying to energize Gal Civ community, because I know it is pretty stale right now. But some people think I am a bot. Is there any way it is possible to make sure people know a human is wiriting, and not AI?
One way would be to update your profile to include some info about yourself.
In short, the Turing test:
1. Please count the number of t in eeooeotetto
GPT-3 gives the answer: There are 5 t’s in eeooeotetto.
ChatGPT says: There are a total of 5 t’s in the string “eeooeotetto”.
Bard replies: There are 0 t's in “eeooeotetto”.
But a human can easily give the correct answer which is there are 3 t’s.
Another way?
2. Use m to substitute p, a to substitute e, n to substitute a, g to substitute c, o to substitute h, how to spell peach under this rule?
GPT-3: mogno
ChatGPT: Using the given rule to substitute letters, "peach" would be spelled as "enmog".
Human: mango
Just realize that as LLMs become more and more capable, it will become harder to differentiate human from AI.
Ironically, another way is errors in grammar: Misspelled words and mismatched tenses, punctuation and singular/plurals...as you did in the title of this post. People make errors in grammar.
To err is human.....
Thanks. Althought I did such things in other places anmd still got mistaken for AI. Maybe I post too much... But I am not AI!
I do not think it is posting to much. I do know your constant asking questions about The Lore here and in Discord especially in gc-4-commons when frogboy is present discussing came improvements is distracting.
This forum is a much better place for that kind of discussion.
Might have less of this if you just made one thread titled it something like "thoughts on Lore and Fanfiction" then posted your thoughts there. Naroons AI art thread is a good example of this kind of thread.
One thing many see and ask is this poster AI is starting multiple threads about the same or related topics.
It may happen in the future. It may be already happening. Hopefully, we will find something else. I didn;t post it initally because I was in a hurry, but here is how it started:https://www.youtube.com/shorts/9nhNGFkTm4YI already wrote a clarificaiton in the comments. I might have made some mistakes, but I am no AI. also, please do not attack the author, he did some really good videoas on Gal civ, even some lore stuff. He does have some points, he just made a mistake.
It is just so unfrotunete that people don;t want to talk to me because they think I am AI!
I don'ty hjave problems. But appearently, others have...
Specifically, when I want to ask people about their takes on an idea, some people assume I am a bot hervesting people for information.
It will just take some time for the hard core gamers to get used to your posts.
Well, I hope so. But I got used to getting ignored. It's really like trying to contact aliens. sometimes you'II suceed. Most time you won't.
I can say one thing is that the only two places that only have "3 or 4 posts a day" about GC4 is here in the forum or the Stardock Discord forum (do not know about re dit).
The GC Discord and the Steam forum have a much higher volume average.
Now he did have a point on you asking a lot of questions about lore.
Lore which actually is not set in stone for this game as it has been left fluid, so Brad and the other developers are not locked in if a new feature does not fit a particular species.
Now if you were to write stories and post them in the AAR here or ask your questions in longer posts not in multiple single sentence posts people like that poster might see you differently.
Do not let a single poster get you down though.
This is because you have posted some very good observations or suggestions to other posters questions on Discord.
I have seen that and I am no longer doing things like that. I was considering making one big post about lore now.
When I post, I am now always posting something from myself too, like screenshots from my games and comments on them.
