I am not sure what goes on underneath WindowsBlinds and I haven't worked in IT since 2007, but the latest Windows 11 updates caused something to burp and Windows Explorer functions stopped working properly. Programs that open files and the WE interface stopped behaving. I uninstalled WB and suddenly things worked again. Reinstalling 11.02 became a showstopper again. Installing 11.04 fixed it. I put 11.04 on my other machine too and we're back in business.
If you have the same issue, installing the Beta should keep you working.
Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. And great to hear you resolved it with the latest beta version. Appreciate your report.
Thank you,Basj,Stardock Community Assistant.
Glad to hear 11.04 fixed it for you! I was having the same issue with 11.02, and uninstalling WindowsBlinds worked for me too. Thanks for the tip about the Beta, I’ll try that next time if it happens again!
Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. Do know that Windowblinds 11.04 no longer in Beta, it was at full released very recently.
I was going nuts and it took me a day and many hours to figure out that WB 11.02 was causing a number of problems on my Win11 PC. The first thing that started happening was the Save/Save As functions were no longer working in many different programs. I also noticed on Start11 I could not get the Start Button Pick Image to open, much like the missing Save functions. I could also not Backup or Restore Start11 Backups (would not open). It took me a while but I finally narrowed it down the WB 11.02. Then went to the forums and fund something similar here, which said I could download 11.04 as a fix from Object Desktop - only that update was not showing there. Finally found a download of 11.04 under My Downloads. And now it seems everything is fixed. I still have hair left, and my stress levels have returned to normal. This was not fun. I even created a new profile through all of this. Hoping it stays fixed...
