Screenshots and videos are very helpful. Videos can be uploaded to a cloud drive service (GoogleDrive, DropBox, OneDrive, YouTube), with a shared link included in your post. Images can be copied and pasted directly into a post.
If there are specific apps that the app does not work (well) with, please note what apps and their exact versions. If any app is not common, a link to a trial version would be appreciated.
Thank you for your interest and any time you put into making Star11 v2 a better product.

As I have already posted, I see no thumbnail previews when I hover over the icons on the vertical taskbar. I tried it also on my backup older laptop and the behavior is exactly the same and the secondary vertical taskbar (right or left) also has no thumbnail previwes
There is also a new bug I discovered, when the Start button is centered and I change the taskbar to vertical on the secondary monitor, the taskbar is empty, restarting the explorer does not fix it, but choosing from "center aligned" to anything else the the icons re-appear.
Here are some screenshots, I cannot capture the cursor hovering over the icons to show that the thumbnails do not show.

WOW, you all are so lucky! I had a disaster. For some reason, there was a hiccup in Extreme; all my docks disappeared, and a new set of docks appeared in the Aquaman skin. What's worse is all my other skins were deleted, and the Aquaman had the tiniest fonts for the various objects. I hated to leave, but after a couple of years of working with Winstep Extreme, I would use Fences. It is not nearly as slick but will serve a similar purpose. I'm surprised you did not hear me scream all the way from Portland, Oregon.
I´m bumping this question - is there access to download the previous versions of Start11?
rationale: it should be possible to download and install previous versions, if it is desired by a customer. (Especially if it is a beta-release or if bugs are present).
I was expecting previous versions being available at the download page, but I could not find it.
Thank you and wishing you all a very nice day!
With best regards
Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. Unfortunately, no, there is no download link for previous released version.
Thank you,Basj,Stardock Community Assistant.
I have a rather trivial issue related to 'taskbar pins', which may be my misunderstanding of the screen instructions.
I created a folder containing links to a number of apps, created a custom icon for the folder, then used the 'Pin folder menu' option to attach it to the taskbar. It functions as expected apart from the custom icon for the folder not being displayed on the taskbar as I expected from the notes on the customisation screen - it just shows the default Windows folder icon. If you look at the folder with File Explorer you can see the custom icon.
I am using Start 11 version 2.5 running on Windows 11 24H2 Build 26100.2894
Otherwise I am pleased with the product to date.

Brian
NEW Adds experimental vertical taskbar support Windows 11 (23H2+ only)
Always hoped that you guys would finally get around to making this happen, but frankly I'm kind of surprised that you actually pulled it off, given Microsoft's complete disinterest in supporting it on Windows 11.
For several years now I've been on 3840 x 1600 UW format, and Task Bar on the left had just become "normal" for me on Windows 10. Tried other methods with varying success on Win11, but a fully integrated Start 11 implementation was always at the top of my wish list.
Now on Win 11 24H2 26100. 2894 / Windows Pro Style, and so far everything seems to be working perfectly. Icon alignment, labels, active App flyouts, System tray, Menus and positioning on the screen all seem spot on. If I find anything I'll let you know.
Can you please pass on my heartiest congratulations, and THANKS, to the development team for their amazing work.
Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. If you try changing the icon after you have pinned the folder to taskbar does it not work? Do note, sometimes, you will need to restart explorer.exe to see it change.
Thank you.Basj,Stardock Community Assistant.

After Start11 update it started to behave totally unstable causing entire system to freeze for a while and random programs crashing.
I have 3 screens setup. Taskbar is working fine on the primary screen, but on secondary screens taskbar is not interactive unless you click on it first. You can move mouse over icons on taskbar on secondary screens but it's not making icons to "hover". After clicking on empty space on taskbar on one of the secondary screens hover is working until focusing on something else outside it. However, if you first click directly on icon on taskbar system is freezing for a while, and after finally starting to work again it's often causing apps to crash.
It makes the update totally unusable.
Thanks for your help. This fixed it.
BTW, having the taskbar on the left of a landscape-shaped screen is a no-brainer to me and I can't understand why Microsoft got rid of this option in Windows 11 whilst filling it with useless crap instead. Start 11 is a great product.

There is an issue with the secondary taskbar repainting which is addressed in the 2.51 beta that is available to you in your downloads.
But it should not cause any apps to crash or anything like that as it is purely a click point error which makes it look like it is hung. The next repaint resolved the issue hence the click working.
We have not had any other reports of apps crashing either and it would be surprising as Start11 should not even be in their process space.
What apps are crashing?
The issue seems specific to this latest update, as I had no such problems with the previous version. I’ve even tried the beta version 2.5.1, but the problem persists. Could you please let me know if there’s a way to download the version prior to 2.5? That version worked perfectly for me.
Thank you for your assistance!
Just updated to 2.5. My setup is:3 monitors, pyramid style. Primary on top.Taskbar displayed only on primary, and configured to display at the top.Windows 11 24H2 Build 26100.2894
Issue - when I right click a running app in the taskbar, no menu appears. If I just hover, I get the proper preview thumbnail - but right click, nothing.Having seen this before, I reconfigured Start 11 to display the taskbar at the bottom. Hover and right click both work as intended. Reconfigure to display taskbar at the top, hover works, right click does not. My guess, the right click is displaying 'upwards' into never never land.
It worked fine this morning, until I upgraded to 2.5 Should have known better and waited for 2.51 or 2.52.
That doesn't seem to do anything when the taskbar is horizontal, I want to center them horizontally.
Open Start11 Configuration app and click on "Start Button" in the left panel. Under "How would you like your taskbar configured," use the pull-down menu to choose you preferred alignment.
Start 11 2.5
Problems with taskbar on second monitor: I was using my laptop via RDP on client's laptop and initially I thought it was due to connection issues. Client's laptop is connected to 4K monitor and I use RDP to switch to my laptop where Start11 is installed; RPD covers both laptop screen and 4K monitor.
Just sometimes the buttons on the taskbar on the second monitor are working. I don't know when the taskbar on the second monitor starts misbehaving. Sometimes it's behaving, most times it's not.
No problems with the taskbar on the primary monitor

Have you tried the latest Beta 2.5.1.2 available in your Account Downloads. https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products
For now, I am going to close this thread with the hopes that most of the issues still being reported for 2.5 have been resolved with the current beta.
Please install it and if you still have issues, please report them there.
Thanks
