Screenshots and videos are very helpful. Videos can be uploaded to a cloud drive service (GoogleDrive, DropBox, OneDrive, YouTube), with a shared link included in your post. Images can be copied and pasted directly into a post.
If there are specific apps that the app does not work (well) with, please note what apps and their exact versions. If any app is not common, a link to a trial version would be appreciated.
Thank you for your interest and any time you put into making Star11 v2 a better product.

I think the new features in release 2.5 are great additions to the software. I appreciate that the product which I bought is developed and improved. So I just want to say thank you to Stardock and all who contribute to the development, as well to other customers who have bought the product - making it possible for the developer to offer this software.
For me Start11 is mandatory in either Win 10 or 11. I can´t stand the standard start menu (or rather advertisment billboard) that Microsoft "offers" as standard in their so called OS:es. (To me the last real start menu and last real OS from MS was Windows 7).
Best regards
Thank you very much for the kind words, m_hult2.

Just updated Start11 to 2.5 and on reboot, the system explorer became unusable with the taskbar, desktop and ObjectDock 3 becoming unresponsive. Everything worked fine before.
Rainmeter functions as normal and good thing since it allowed me to run the Task Manager. Once I was able to get to the task manager running. Terminating the OD3 task, both the taskbar and system performed normally.
I restarted OD3 and the issue with system performance and both OD3 and the taskbar (unresponsive) began again.
Having the Start11 settings opened before I restarted OD3, I disabled the "Let Start11 enhance the taskbar" and then the OD3 and windows taskbar performing as expected.
ObjectDock 3 is at rev 3.01. I'm going to disable it for now.

How many monitors do you have?
I have 2
Windows 11 23H2 22635.4800
Taskbar Left Aligned
Taskbar Size> Small
Taskbar>Enhanced taskbar settings>Taskbar text Medium
Taskbar>Enhanced taskbar settings>Taskbar button style> Windows 11 style
Taskbar>Enhanced taskbar settings>Allow taskbar to be resized> Yes
Launch the File Explorer app that's pinned to the taskbar, the pinned items "grow" vertically and cover up the start button. Doesn't seem to happen with other pinned apps.
Start Button>Default image- the start button is covered up
Start Button>Use Custom image- the start button appears to be on top of the app buttons
When using the new vertical taskbar in Start11 v2.5, the system tray icons for Ethernet, Location, and Wi-Fi all appear upside down in the notification area (see screenshots below).
I am using Microsoft Windows 11 Pro, Version 24H2 (OS Build 26100.2894), and the vertical taskbar is set to the right side of my screen.
The search button is still not functioning?
The setup UI under Japan location setting shows only mojibake.
Only the cancel dialog shows correct Japanese.

Unfortunately, I didn't see this thread until after I created another thread at https://forums.stardock.com/533831/start-11-v25-vertical-taskbars-on-windows-11.
Great effort on making vertical taskbars available in Windows 11, but some improvements would make this excellent. The issues are: secondary taskbar not resizable, primary taskbar notification icons alignment should be horizontal, hiding the network icon, and alignment of clock after explorer restart. See: https://forums.stardock.com/533831/start-11-v25-vertical-taskbars-on-windows-11 for more info.
FANTASTIC JOB! Thank you so much Stardock team!
This is a life-changing improvement to Windows 11. I have been using StartAllBack for a vertical sidebar but I didn't realize how much it was slowing down my system until I switched to Start11. I am super happy with it and I absolutely love the "Pin Folder Menu" button. This is the best launchpad for Windows I have ever used -- simple and fast.
My one complaint: For those of us who have a little width to our vertical sidebar, consider packing the system tray icons in a grid rather than in a straight vertical column. I have about 8 or so icons that I like to remain visible, but they are taking unnecessary real estate from the task bar.
Again, great work! LOVE YOU PEOPLE!

Is my issue just gonna be ignored?
I can't even rollback to a previous version, the whole reason i purchased this software was to have the taskbar at the top, i've been supporting it since Windows 11 came out. Please fix the search bar.
Unfortunately I don't think anyone reported it during the beta (I think, apologies if I missed it) which is why it remained in the release version.
We plan to do an update this coming week based on some issues reported and will investigate that too. Obviously the more information you can supply on your setup the better as it really helps reproducing issues.

Everything was working fine before the 2.5 beta, i always have my taskbar at the top and the search would open like normal. Once i installed the beta, the search bar will disappear when you click in it and the search menu does not open, upon further inspection the menu does actually open but it's invisible, because i can type and open a program. I posted screenshots of the problem if you look back on the comments.
I can reproduce this issue on my 24h2 build of windows 11. While the taskbar is at the top; the search view of (search icon only) and (search icon and label) work as expected. This bug is specific to the search view option (search box) while the taskbar is on the top.
Thank you for the update! This fixed the file explorer popups for me
- and good job on the fast fix! (I may speak up more when things go wrong, but I love the app)
Thats very useful thank you and may also explain what's going wrong.
So as a short term workaround set the search mode to icon mode.
Is it possible in this release to change the spacing between the tray icons ?
Right-Click on Taskbar Icons Not Working at Top Position After Latest Update.
After the latest update (January 17), I noticed that right-clicking on taskbar icons no longer works when the taskbar is positioned at the top of the screen. This is the main reason I purchased Start11, so it’s frustrating that this functionality is now broken.
Right-click works fine when the taskbar is at the bottom or left, but it completely stops working at the top.
I have already tried:
-Uninstalling and reinstalling Start11.
-Restarting the system multiple times.
....Unfortunately, the issue persists.
Could I possibly get access to the previous version of Start11? The earlier version worked without any issues.
Thank you for your help!
Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. It is best if you include information of your Windows. Need to know you on Windows 10 or 11? Also need its full version and OS Build number. Please use Winver.exe.
Thank you,Basj,Stardock Community Assistant.
win 11 pro / 24H2 / 26.100.2894
I can not reproduce your issue on my system. Just make sure to turn on Start11 enhance taskbar.
Thank you,
Basj,Stardock Community Assistant
I have tried to reproduce this and the closest I can get is the right click menu will not show when the thumbnail window is open.
This is avoidable by moving the mouse a little bit before right clicking and appears to be a limitation of Windows itself in that scenario possibly caused by some OS updates.
An alternative is to enable enhanced taskbar in Start11 settings.
The test build looks to have resolved the GadgetPack issue. Before I update my main computer from v2.11, is there any reason why the fix wouldn't work with a multi-monitor setup? I don't have a v2.11 install file to back to [insert standard grumble about Stardock practices here].
I would hold off as I think we are going to do a proper update with some other tweaks.
