Sorry, but this is freakin annoying. Email support for this software is futile and the engineers are incompetent. They instead point me here. How I wish this gets resolved as I have checked every forum page of this and I can't find similar issues.
Problem: - The mouse pointer on the secondary pc/laptop is getting sluggish over time. Which means, if I move the mouse, the pointer moves in slow motion and become totally useless as it keeps moving on it's own. As you can see here: https://mega.nz/file/rzBz0YxJ#Y_G1K5q5Cv6IWASnIDUCtylcxyJ24W3Qr8Ilgftd48w
I might refund, if this issue persist.
Thanks in advance.

Hey BasJ,Any update on this one? This one major problem we have with Stardock. We don't know really if our ticket has been received or not since we are not receiving any replies from you.
Roldan
Nothing so far, but we are still waiting for your information as mentioned above.
Thank you,

My reply is not getting posted.
Hi Basj,Any issue with your forum? I've made an effort to compose a reply and it's not getting posted here. Here it is again:PRIMARY PC:

Thank you. Please refer to this guide: https://support.stardock.com/space/SHC/1287815231/Mouse+Cursor+Lags+on+Secondary
I understand and sympathize, but a refund will be automatic if the prior comment is what we can expect going forward.
When this has been seen, it usually means one (or both) of the PCs is getting crushed (very high CPU \ memory usage) or the same is true for the network medium (wireless \ wired network has very high traffic).
Are either of these true when you see the issue?

Hi sdrohan,
Apology for the frustration. Just one question and I still have to do a forum just for a simple question via email.
Anyway.
- I guess both my PC are at par technically. My PC has 32GB of memory. My Laptop has 16 GB in it.- I'm using CAT8 Cables to get connected (and not wireless). Currently, it's the fastest ethernet cable available.- I have 480mbps internet connection. And the secondary PC is connected through CAT8 Cable via high speed USB adapter.- This happens even when the secondary pc is on standby. Sometimes if I'm watchin YouTube video on the secondary. But this should not be the case even if I'll be watching video like crazy on the secondary.
So, hardware issue can obviously be rolled-out here. As they are highly optimized.
Regards,Roldan
The suggestion in the link are affirmatively been carried out. But it did not help resolve the issue.
Thank you!
While your specs are helpful, knowing what state the PCs are in when the issue is seen is what's important. For example:
I suspect that on one or both PCs, one or more of those (CPU, Memory, etc) is very high.
This is how it looks on the secondary when the issue occurred.
And this is on the primary:
Regards,
Your ethernet traffic, most of the time, seems very high on the Secondary, yes? If you know why that is, and if you eliminate it (as a test), does the problem cease?
Hello,
I am also experiencing this sluggishness issue periodically. The cursor and refresh rate sometimes come to a crawl. I sometimes have to quit the Multiplicity application and restart it to clear up the issue. On occasion M4 will just completely freeze up requiring a Force-Quit. Also, occasionally it will crash and just disappear requiring me to restart the application. Something is definitely bogging it down occasionally. At this point M3 is far more stable. I'll wait for the next beta release of M4 and see if any progress is made on this issue, but if this continues I'll need to uninstall M4 and reinstall M3 on all the computers.
Just an observation, based on reading previous comments; Internet traffic isn't the issue (unless the traffic is generated by M4 itself) as my setup has not changed except upgrading from M3 to M4. M3 runs almost perfectly with only the rare issue here and there. M4, has far more issues and far more often(as to be expected given it is beta) (e.g. disconnections, sluggish performance/screen updates, sluggish mouse, unresponsive UI at times, crashing and disappearing mouse cursor when entering the remote screen window(even the title bar), drag and drop copying of files not working at all (must still use copy/paste method) are the main issues). M3 rarely drops a connection, whereas M4, although fairly stable at times, goes through periods where it can't hold a connection and will keep reconnecting and disconnecting. The only solution to that is to quit the application and reload it.
The disappearing mouse cursor is very annoying as well. Often when my mouse cursor (on the primary computer) enters the secondary computers screen the mouse cursor will disappear. This happens even when entering the title bar of the window which is strange. The only way to get the mouse cursor back is to move the mouse until it exits the secondary computer screen window completely and try again. Sometimes I have to repeat this pattern (entering window, exiting window with mouse cursor) to get the mouse cursor to stick and be visible while inside the secondary computer screen window.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Ivan Thomson
Can I get both of you to run the purge on all MP PCs, reboot, and reinstall MP 4 Beta 2 on each?

We are seeing positive results with a client that had a similar issue and had MP3 installed prior (but was also using Bitdefender).

Hi Sean,
I have just installed Multiplicity 4.
Sending you heads up soon on the recurrence (if any) of the issues mentioned.
However, is this not a security concern for users, where the connection don't work if the Public Firewall is On? Because if the firewall is active, Multiplicity won't connect.
Let us know.
Thanks,
RoldanKing
MP does not care that the public firewall is on and will work perfectly fine if it is. What it won't do is use a network that is flagged as 'Public'.
Please see this for changing your network type:

I just found this weird request when installing the secondary:
Saying, it should not be set to "Public".
While on the Primary it says:
Anyway, I was able to let it work with your suggestion.
I'm just doing more testing to see if the concerned issue will recur.
Thanks,Roldan
I also observed that connection to the secondary pc is lost when you are downloading on the primary pc:
After the download, everything went back to normal.

I think you may have misunderstood the message.
It was telling you that your PC is set to believe the network it is on is a public one. This means untrusted. Multiplicity only opens firewall ports for trusted networks for security reasons.
Disabling the firewall, whilst it does let MP work, is not the right solution as it opens you up to all sorts of security risks. You should mark your local network connection as trusted.
