After installing 2024-07 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 22H2 (KB5040427) that Start11 v2 2.08 is breaking. When accessing the Start Menu if I click on any of the sub-menus or try to Shutdown, Reboot, etc, the menu ends up freezing and to gain access again Explorer.exe must be killed via Task Manager but it'll happen again if I try to use the Start Menu the same way. I seem to recall something like this has happened in the past. I uninstalled KB5040427 and the problem vanished.
Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. I already get this same update on my system yesterday, and I don't see your issue on my system with Start11v2.08. Refer screenshot below. Please try doing the update again, reboot. If it the issue still happening please report back.

Thanks for the feedback, Basj. As per your suggestion I reinstalled the update. The update the second time was painfully slow compared to the first time for some reason but after rebooting things appear to be functioning properly. I'll keep my eye on things but for now it seems the issue is resolved although I'm definitely confused.
I have saw similar reports from others that related to Windows updates, not specifically this update. And, it usually resolved by rolling back, reboot and re-update Windows. Not really sure why that happen too.
Thank you,

Start 11 2.08
Windows 11 Insider 23H2 (22635.3858)
I've noticed that since the last Windows update that the preview images when hovering the taskbar icons are misplaced and unusable
I use the LEFT START BUTTON and CENTERED ALIGNED TASKBAR BUTTONS (start button settings)
When hovering mouse over icons (in center), the preview images are appearing on the LEFT side of the taskbar instead of being aligned with the icon that I am hovering over. Can't navigate to the preview images because moving from the icon that I am hovering loses focus immediately. If I have several Word files open, the only option is to Alt-Tab to choose the correct file instead of choosing from the icons hover images
I am also running Windows 11 - 22635.3858 and I am not seeing this issue, so I don't think it is related to the last Windows update. I tried different settings for how the taskbar buttons are displayed, and still did not see the issue.
I have tried enabling and disabling features all day, even reinstalled Start 11. Can't seem to make the preview images go back to the middle icons
Here is a short video from my system.

Not sure what's going on with your system. Are you using any third party software to alter the taskbar?
What happens when the start button and apps are centered?
