Screenshots and videos are very helpful. Videos can be uploaded to a cloud drive service (GoogleDrive, DropBox, OneDrive, YouTube), with a shared link included in your post. Images can be copied and pasted directly into a post.
If there are specific apps that the app does not work (well) with, please note what apps and their exact versions. If any app is not common, a link to a trial version would be appreciated.
Thank you for your interest and any time you put into making Fences 3 a better product.

Yeah. The website and filename list it as Fences 3.13, but when it's installed it displays version 3.1.3.3. Purging 3.16 and installing 3.13 fixes the issue and removes the Fences 5 pop-up advertisement.
Thank you for your input. I have forward your finding to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.

Will the Purge maintain the folder settings as before?
Hello,I believe the purge do not delete off the saved layout snapshots. But, to be sure you can use this guide to back it up. https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#backupsnapshots

Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. I believe this issue is currently being looked into. Hopefully, it will be resolved soon.
How can I downgrade to version 3.0 After upgrade to 3.16. I found the problem about my PC always refresh the desktop display. They always delay and display sandclock, so I decide to disable Fences to keep working smoothly.please help Note: I use Window 11 pro
Unfortunately, there is no way you could directly download older version from your account product download page. Only option is to try to look under your local download page and see if the older version installer still available in there.
Thank you,
Version 3.13 can be had here:

Thanks a lot!
After I downgrade to 3.13, The problem is still the same. I think it might be cause by my company installed new software "Forcepoint DLP Endpoint". How can I fix it?
Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. I have answered your question on that other thread you posted. : https://forums.stardock.com/524983/get;3930023
my fences 3.16 crashed when I use windows shorcut "Win+D". How can i solve it?PS1: I found the solution for solve this in Fences 4&5 by tick on hot key. but it's not in Fences 3.PS2: my PC installed Forcepoint, but i think it shouldn't be relevant.
Not sure what you mean by PS1 and PS2?
That means Post Script usually abbreviated P.S. It just means something added on after having written the original message. His PS1 and PS2 man first and second added messages to the original writing.
It absolutely is relevant. Forcepoint is notorious for affecting 3rd party products.
If that can be removed from the equation \ test, does it still happen?
Since v3.1.6 causes high Explorer.exe load I returned to 3.1.3 via Steam's "Beta" opt-in.
The Explorer load does not happen with Fences 3.1.6 disabled, but there is another noteworthy *temporary* workaround. Right-click on the empty desktop to open the context-menu. This will stop the high Explorer load for some time, but it will eventually come back.
My problem is Fences 3.16 crashed when I used "Win+D". Is this problem relevant to Forcepoint? If relevant, I will contact to my IT dept. again .
I can only tell you what our experience has been over the years with that app present. I am sure the product is sound and robust but any Google search will return a plethora of applications having problems with it in the environment.
The best test is to make an attempt without the presence of Forcepoint - if at all possible.
Now Forcepoint is disabled but the problem still happen when I use shortcut Win+D. How can i do next for fix this?
Disabled but not uninstalled? Lots of time disabled security system has some part still running in the background. Try uninstall and reboot.
As a total nobody developer I also get treated poorly by security software (Heuristic scans are the worst for people like me).Despite this, I have never told a customer to uninstall their security software. Maybe Forcepoint is more strict on "third party apps" than other security software, but ultimately that's its job. There should be things you can do to make your apps trusted (or less affected) before you ask customers to go online naked. Perhaps suggest adding a single exception instead? It is the wild west out there. Security software is essential for every PC!I am frequently brought to sites to do installs of my software, and other peoples software. The most basic requirement at all of these sites is to produce a risk assesment and method statement that includes a Roll Back plan before work is started. Stardock don't seem to have one? At a minimum, nobody should have to ask randoms to send them applications they own (because the manufacturer refuses to help). Nor should they go to dodgy online repositories. If you care about your customers, I sincerely hope you make V3.1.3.3 downloads available for anyone that needs it. It's crystal clear the latest version is causing severe problems for some. Leaving customers desperate enough to make poor security choices is not an indication of good support.
I can still offer customers replacement files going back to 2014. I would be able to go back further but I do delete releases when I'm 100% sure nobody is left using them. Even if Norton 360 goes to great lengths (again) to trash my installation repositories. I have backups to restore destroyed files, and even a few ancient (unused) machines to rebuild old applications. If you can't restore an old installer, somebody has done their job terribly.
(If I wasn't as particular as I am I'm pretty sure I would be spitting feathers right about now, thankfully I didn't update)
Also seeing the rampant CPU usage, extreme lag in Explorer and on the Desktop, etc. after just a few minutes running Fences 3.16. After a downgrade to 3.1.3.3, all the issues went away, so I'll be sticking with that version for now until there's a fix ready.
I made a related post where I originally reported this behavior, thinking it might be Groupy 2. Strangely, restarting the Stardock Groupy service in Services caused the lag to go away briefly, but Fences was ultimately the culprit, so it seems like Explorer restarting and clearing up whatever potential memory leak is happening (maybe?) helps. Maybe Fences is dealing with a rogue cache or something?
Either way, would appreciate a fix. I don't think it would be fair to pay and upgrade to v5 just to fix an unusable v3 build.
Thanks!
Nor would we under anything other than a test directive. As you would almost certainly agree, if something is working for almost all, one needs to eliminate contributing factors for those where its is not working as expected.
While there are options other than an uninstall of products, a cleanboot for example, they too would require admin privileges that corp clients very often do not have access to.
