In GC III, players were allowed to move shipyards to fine-tune their placement. Would it be possible to implement the same concept for starbases to allow players to maximize their use later in the game?
Shipyard yes Starbase not only no but heck no
I like the idea, im curious to see what others would think of this as well. If you're part of the discord we opened a new suggestions channel where folks can vote on ideas to show favor
Thanks, but I'm not part of discord. You can put it forward if you wish.
+1
Perhaps I'm missing something obvious but what would be the benefit of fine tuning the placement of shipyards? Only 1 world can sponsor a yard and I thought there wasn't any decay mechanic for shipyard sponsors.
I'll make you guys happy. My Bundle of Mods will now includes a Thruster Module for your starbases. It work extremely well allowing you to anchor or unanchor your starbase. Get it at https://www.galciv4.com/mods/manager !

As with anything you add with mods, it's best used with your own house rules. Don't abuse it, and use it when it makes sense
As for the AI, who said it couldn't use it ? I haven't tested it but it's free and capable of building the module on its starbases. I do not know if it knows how to anchor and unanchor its bases though, etc.
Ah okay I get it now. For some reason in my head I read the topic as "thrusters on a shipyard" not starbase.
Yeah, it's kind of buggy anyway hehe. Gonna have to take it away; games not ready for it yet
