Screenshots and videos are very helpful. Videos can be uploaded to a cloud drive service (GoogleDrive, DropBox, OneDrive, YouTube), with a shared link included in your post. Images can be copied and pasted directly into a post.
If there are specific apps that the app does not work (well) with, please note what apps and their exact versions. If any app is not common, a link to a trial version would be appreciated.

Hi, I bought Fences 5 (don't know why I couldn't upgrade)... and for such price I don't saw it as such major update. None really new usable feature... but it was my decision and I wanted to support future development so hopefully in version 6 all of us will be surprised .Why I'm currently thinking of downgrading back to version 4 is that "Lock Fences" feature disappeared. So every time I hover mouse over any fence those 2 "buttons" at top corners appear. On fences with really short labels/names (like "DEV") these buttons start to overlap (cut off) the label. Minor think I know but for few including myself really annoying .Second thing is that customizing colors of fences is still so user unfriendly. Why not add the possibility to take color (button with "pipette") from target area of wallpaper and then let user just tweak it? Right now to set few fences takes ages instead of minute or two.BR,Martin
HiThis is a copy of a post which was posted as a separate thread but I was advised to post it here as well. I have incuded the initial post as well as my response to a reply by Dr W.I've just purchased a 5-pack of Fences 5 and part of why I upgraded was that I thought the problem reported by myself regarding the spacing between fences had finally been sorted. Sadly I fooled myself since I've just realised that I was in Windows 10 NOT Windows 11. I therefore changed to Windows 11 and found it STILL does not work, and this was with the default settings. The first thing I did was to find where the spacing setting was located in the new config tabs. Can someone please get back to the developers and inform them that the inter-fence spacing still cannot be set in Windows 11 using the setting within the config tabs. Also tell them there is no real problem in Windows 10 but Windows 11 NO WAY!!! Currently the only way I know of to set the inter-fence spacing is to use the registry parameter SnapPadding. Although I have no worries using the registry, I'd much rather not have to do so particularly since a setting to do this is supposedly built into the program.Tracey***Dr WThanks for your message but I've just this minute checked out what you have said but no, it does NOT work. The section of the dialogue in your reply shows a full size number -- both PCs here that are on Windows 11 show what looks more like a superscript number and it appears to switch only between 0 and 1. Currently, as I have said before, the ONLY way I can adjust the spacing is via Regedit and the SnapPadding parameter. Incidentally, the spacing at the time I took the screenshot was, and still is, 13 as set using the Registry.
Since I purchased a pack of five upgrades, I installed Fences 5 on my husbands PC yesterday and since he is still on Windows 10 I had no problems adjusting the inter-fence spacing. Because I and a spare PC are both on Windows 11 I have to adjust the inter-fence spacing using the Registry.Sorry to be the barer of such news but I can only tell you how it affect us here.Tracey

also for me, no display for snapshots. Uninstalled Fences 5 and installed Fences 4. In Fences 4, snapshots have an indicator (image). So it's up to Fences 5. With Fences 5, the translation into German also does not work. I now pay 3 times the price for fences, which I accepted, but in return the software has to work.
I'm disappointed with Fences 5, as I expected an improvement over Fences 4. But as it stands at the moment, Fences 4 is the better choice. What a pity!!

Das Problem mit der Übersetzung ins deutsche besteht immer noch, aber warten wir die nächsten Fences Versionen ab. Ich hoffe und denke das auch dieses gelöst wird.

I have the same issue - every time I log on to my PC it says the enter product key or purchase a licence. Then when I try to activate it again and it tells me that it has bbeen activated, I cannot drag any icons into an existing fence

Just moving to a new laptop, so I figured this was a good time to move from Fences 4 to 5. Windows 11 23H2 22631.2715. In Fences 4, I could go to right-click, View, Lock Fences. I cannot find this functionality in 5. I keep snagging my Fences and changing their size and/or position. Is this current functionality or is their another way to accomplish this? Thanks!

I completely unistalled Fences, incluidng deleting the leftover entry in Add Remove of Fences 4 (using registry editor) and deleting the folder mentioned in the article, and reinstalled Fences 5 .
So far it is behaving itself, although this was the case when I first upgraded. Will update if problems

I want version 5, but fear loading it and being stuck with it. Does Version 5 improve it's handling of multiple monitors and fences being scattered every where when you reboot, sleep, and shut down. That IS MY ONLY issue, has this been resolved in Version 5?
Some work has been done there but it would be prudent to install the trial, reboot, and see if your issues are indeed resolved.
