I purchased Star11 a year ago and it has worked fine up until recently. I'm on version 1.47. The time and date on the taskbar clock do not update. If I opt to restart explorer it works for a while, but eventually it freezes. The rest of the taskbar functions fine, just the time/date area. Any ideas?
I still can not reproduce your issue on my system. Refer my screenshot below. Its on my VM Windows 11. This screenshot was taken after a wake from system sleep. Note that the main system and th VM clock still the same after 3 minutes of waiting from wake. So the clock still not freezing. Would like to suggest to try the cleanboot and see if there is something conflicting with Start11: https://forums.stardock.com/505872/start11-support-faq#cleanboot

Thank you for attempting to reproduce the issue, Basj. Debugging an issue like this can be challenging. Even though you cannot reproduce it, I'm hoping we can find the issue if we work together.
I attempted a clean boot on several occasions and the freeze still happened. Unfortunately, it is not a guaranteed timing or action that causes the freeze. For example, I just woke this laptop from hibernation 6 hours after gaming for an hour this morning. The taskbar is not frozen at the moment.
The only guarantee I have is that Start11 is the culprit of the taskbar freezing. The problem does not occur when Start11 is uninstalled completely.
Back on November 8th, your colleague Neil Banfield mentioned this issue was a resource leak (reply #15 on this thread)
The issue has indeed been resolved. The earlier 2.x beta had a resource leak causing this to happen over time. A similar leak was in 1.x and I believe the plan is to put the fix in an update for that once the dust has settled on the 2.0 release.

The issue is clearly not resolved since it is occurring for three different users. I'm happy to run a resource monitor or provide a memory dump if that will help, just provide instructions on how to provide the proper format.
Hello,I have forwarded your problem/question again to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.
If you install the Start11 v2 trial, do you still see the issue?

Yes, I attempted the free trial for v2 for the full month of December and the taskbar was still freezing up. After that, I uninstalled Start11 completely until February when I noticed there was an update to the v1 software. I installed the latest version of v1 and the issue was still present. I hope that helps, thanks for keeping the dialog open.
That was some time ago. I have reset your trial if you want to test it again...
Thanks very much for that, Sean! I truly appreciate the assistance you and your colleagues are providing, tracking down issues on other people's machines is no simple task! Top-tier customer service; Microsoft should be this good. n__n
I'll give v2 another try and get back with you on the results.
I'm having the same issue in version 2.52. It happens roughly once every couple weeks for me. Right-clicking the taskbar, choosing "Configure Start 11...", and clicking the "Restart explorer" button on the Taskbar tab always resolves the issue. Mine is a new (~8 weeks old) laptop with a clean install Windows 11 Pro 24H2, two external monitors (DisplayPort via Thunderbolt 4 dock) and an RTX 5080 GPU. I have Start11v2 configured in Windows 11 style, left-aligned Start menu, set for Start11 to enhance the taskbar and no other non-default settings that I recall.
Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please try, uninstall Start11v2.52, reboot immediately (important), download latest Start11 version 2.53 should be available in your account product download page: https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products. Install it, reboot immediately again. Retest it and report back.
Thank you,Basj,Stardock Community Assistant.
The OS clock not updating is a defect in Windows itself. We are aware of people who have this issue who do not even have Start11 installed.
I believe it may be more common if you have enabled seconds on the taskbar clock in the OS or in Start11 settings and it may show up if you are active users of the taskview feature in Windows.
