Screenshots and videos are very helpful. Videos can be uploaded to a cloud drive service (GoogleDrive, DropBox, OneDrive, YouTube), with a shared link included in your post. Images can be copied and pasted directly into a post.
If there are specific apps that the app does not work (well) with, please note what apps and their exact versions. If any app is not common, a link to a trial version would be appreciated.
Thank you for your interest and any time you put into making Start11 v2 a better product.

So far, everything's doing well ...
The Power options have at least been fixed except this new problem with the latest update of this software I bought. Redoing the pinned folders does not fix the issue.
Start11 Version 2.0 BETA 1.02
Although I do like some of the new changes to the Start Menu - hopefully there's an option to more the Power options and other items to the bottom left-hand side corner.
Is it to late to mention a quirk for the next release?
When drawing labels to the right of pinned items (Icon on left) it appears that grouped items are still labeled on the bottom. See the SS below where I've pinned a couple of groupy files in a folder. It makes it stick out among the other pins.
Feature Request: Being able to pin the start menu, so it doesn't close when starting an item. That would come handy in the process of setting the menu up or changing it.
If you hold the Win key while clicking a pin it is launched without dismissing the menu. Is that what you mean?
Hi, it seems that sometimes the programs in the taskbar are shown as closed while they are opened.
In the screenshot below Firefox is opened but the icon state is the one of a closed application.
If I hover the mouse on the icon I can see the previews of the opened windows of Firefox:
but if Firefox is not the current active window the icon is 100% the same as if the program was closed.
The OS in my PC is Windows 11 22H2 (22621.2428).
Thanks,
Michele
the slowness issue of tiles I had before is gone! though for some reason the main settings app of Start11 now behaves as bad (especially when the directory shortcuts list is visible and enumerating the list also takes a very long time, in general it looks like all lists are populated slowly), but I guess that's a bit less annoying
the Taskbar is still a bit lacking, two things I miss the most are the ability to put it on the side and disable grouping (not just collapsing!) buttons of the same app, being able to move each button separately is a big quality of life change
edit: oh and I'd love to change the language of the app to English but it doesn't seem to be possible

there is still an error where recently used files are not displayed.
Where are they not displayed and which menu style?
And screenshots are VERY helpful.

V2.02 does not change style
I just installed V2 (and updated to 2.02) and chose, one at a time, of the new styles but it just "stayed on" for a brief moment and then std win 11 style (I run win 11). Now it is impossible to change to any other style (I have also reinstalled)!
Will we be getting skinning options for these with windowblinds/skin studio? I asked in the beta thread and never got an answer.
Feature Request: having the ability to backup and restore configs now is a beautiful thing. Will make it SO easy to upgrade when it comes time to get a new computer.
One request though, would be to have an option to automatically back your configuration up on a schedule. Once a day, or once an hour, or something. So you have the config backed up in case of unplanned computer replacement (hard drive crashes, say).
Preferably, this would allow you to specify the location and file of the backup. This would allow me to make sure it backs up to a location which is captured in my computer backup.

I've found a bug related to the integration with the Taskbar. What's happening is that clicking on a taskbar item is creating a second instance of the application rather than bringing interacting with the existing application.
More specifically, I have this happening with Outlook and I believe it may be related to multi-monitors and grouped application windows. I can reproduce the problem. It does not happen when I turn off "enhance the taskbar".
Steps to reproduce:
1) Have Outlook running on monitor 12) Have a second window up (e.g. reminders, new email, etc). running on monitor 13) Minimize the applications and have the focus on other window4) Click the icon in the toolbar. Most often it will show you existing windows. Sometimes it will launch another Outlook instance.
5) Repeat this test, but first open another popup on monitor 2. In this case, I've gone ahead and opened a "new email" on monitor 2.6) Because of my multi-monitor setting, the icon for this new windows is only on monitor 2.7) Click on the taskbar icon of Outlook on monitor 1. A new instance of Outlook will launch on monitor 2
At this point there is a disconnect between the task bar and the app.
8) Close both the new instance and the popup window on monitor 2.. This brings you back to your original setup. However, since the two seem to be out of sync, click the application icon in the taskbar on monitor 1. It will open a new instance of Outlook on monitor 1.. Same problem, just showing that it's following the multimonitor. This will continue to happen. If you close each new instance, clicking the original taskbar item will launch a new one. If you leave the "secondary", repeatedly clicking the application icon will not create a new one. It's "sort" of synced to one of them.9) You can "resync" them by explicitly hovering over the icon and choosing the selected primary application.10) if you do that then a) a new instance won't be launched they will be back in sync and you can minimize and click on the taskbar icon without a new one being created.
Windows 11 Pro - 22635.2700, Start11v2 - 2.02
In the Windows 10 style in the all apps section, the alphabetical listing is really expanded compared to Start11v1.
It requires a considerable mouse movement to make a selection. This is not a complaint, but a suggestion to allow an option for condensing this section. I know it mimics the Windows 11 Start Menu, but I liked the way it was in v1.
Thanks for your consideration.

Another bug:
I uninstalled the game but it still appears in the start menu.
If you type win+r and type shell:AppsFolder and run that do you see the same app still listed?
no
If you sign out and in again does it still show in Start11?
sing out solves problem
Start 11 v1 and v2 have issues with the latest Nvidia drivers. Installed with driver version 546.01 the system will freeze for 30 seconds to a minute when windows starts. Rolling the driver back to 537.58 will fix the problem.
Have you reported it to nvidia?
Yeah, with little joy. The drivers work for games which is what they sell the graphics cards for. If Start 11 v1 and v2 have issues and can not be updated for Nvidia users, maybe the slow start times and system freezes for those users should be listed on the buy page?
I'm running Nvidia driver version 546.01 on Windows 11 Pro 23H2 and I'm not seeing this
I’m also running 546.01 without issue.
