Screenshots and videos are very helpful. Videos can be uploaded to a cloud drive service (GoogleDrive, DropBox, OneDrive, YouTube), with a shared link included in your post. Images can be copied and pasted directly into a post.
If there are specific apps that the app does not work (well) with, please note what apps and their exact versions. If any app is not common, a link to a trial version would be appreciated.
Thank you for your interest and any time you put into making Groupy 2 a better product.

Hello,
I can not get to the video you posted above. Access denied. And I do believe on your unique issue, it is best for you to post your issue on your own thread. So we can try to help you there. Posting in general feedback thread might bring some confusion.
ThanksBasj,Stardock Community Assistant.
If you are getting windows grouping when they should not be, it would be useful to have the following information :
Hold down the CTRL key and click the groupy icon in the tabbed group. This shows a menu which should now have a debug entry at the very bottom. Expand this menu and take a screenshot of the information. Do this for all the windows in the group.
Then post the screenshots here (clip the screen shots to those menus ideally)
This will give us reasons why the window was grouped.
You made it so the video required requesting access.

I accidentally granted did that with the video.. without realizing it.
However, I have sorta figured out what was happening and came to give my report. Firstly, I'm getting dumber by the day it seems.
A while back, I tried to use Custom Rules to prevent apps from auto-grouping, but I discovered that the rules only allow you to permit windows and not disallow them from auto-grouping. So, I left the rule as not defined and continued to search for a solution.
Yesterday, I went through everything in Groupy again to see if there was anything that could be causing my windows to group together. All my windows were grouped, regardless of the app, all the time, and I couldn't use Groupy in that condition. I found a checkbox under one of the entries in the Custom Rules section that said to match on partial strings and auto-group when it found a match. I didn't think Groupy would consider nothing as a partial match, but I deleted the rule, and the auto-grouping problem went away. I'm still confused because I created a new rule with the same settings, but the problem didn't return. However, I might not be remembering everything correctly because I had two rules in the Custom Rules section, and I deleted both, but I only looked at the one I described above. I don't recall what was in the other rule, except that it was also left undefined as far as I can remember because I wanted to prevent auto-grouping, and the rules only allow for auto-grouping. This all happened while updates to Groupy were being released, and I was convinced it had something to do with that.
Do they still make kids wear dunce caps? I deserve to wear one and apologize for the confusion. Maybe I can find an avatar that says IQ of 85 to use which would be about right.
Very pleased to read this, Carfar...
Almost without fail, every time I have to deep dive into a client issue, I learn something I did not know prior about our apps - this one was no exception so I am better for it as well - ty.
Hi
Is there a way to make it less annoying when using Chrome maximized with just one Chrome window tab?The settings I have which seem relevant are "Place tabs above", "Always Visible", "Do not paint a tab when only one tab exists for the group".
I rarely use Groupy, so it is supposed to stay out of my way.The problem in Chrome is that Chrome has its own tabs on the top. When I go to that area to click on a tab, I frequently get "a little too high" and Groupy's bar (with just this one window) decides to pop over Chrome's tabs and I can't click the tab I want to go to. I even accidentally closed windows that way.And not every time - but often. I haven't found a full pattern yet.
If there would be an option to completely disable the bar if Chrome is maximized and has only its one tab or change it that I have to be right at the edge of the screen rather than catching it already a few pixels down, that would be good.
Maybe you have another suggestion?
ThanksMark

Groupy "plus" button for Chrome adds a new Chrome session, followed by infinitely growing vertical size on the new groupy tab; until the groupy bar fills the screen. I've had this issue for years on both Groupy 1 and 1.5. as well The screenshot below shows an example of me killing the session before the groupy bar on Chrome grew to full screen. Without the exit of the application (chrome) tab, the Groupy bar keeps growing vertically.
Winver 23h2 build 22631.2861Chrome Version 120.0.6099.130 (Official Build) (64-bit)
When I close programs within a group of three then the last open application cannot be accessed. It still shows in alt tab, and I can see a popup of it if I mouse over it, I just cannot access the program.
Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need more information.
Windows 23H2Groupy 2.12The issue is repeatable and the order that the windows are closed in doesn't matter.
I can not reproduce your issue. Refer my short video below. Do post a video of your issue so we can see if your steps can be reproduce easily.
Thank you,

As a follow-up, locking Windows and typing in my pin to log back in made the app accessible again.
Your video look like you're grouping specific applications which might not be compatible with Groupy. Please try grouping application like Windows explorer, Ms Words, Excel and Calculator and see if the issue appear.
When Groupy 2 is active, in Excel diagrams, the buttons for quick actions are hidden. If Groupy is disabled, the buttons stay visible.
Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. I can reproduce your issue on my Windows 10 system. Those quick icon hide itself if you have tabs appear on top. What you can do select "Always hide".
Thank you for your proposal, but it seems to be dependent on more settings.
I have Groupy set to show always tabs and above the window. Changing to show never tabs or to integrated tabs, doesn't change the buttons behavior here.
Hello,I have forwarded your problem/question to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.
I have logged it internally to have it looked at.

Thanks for the feedback.
Once open browser or visual studio more than 2 tabs, it will happen like below
Browser : block tab part
VS Code: don't know why it has a huge transparency block
Does your team have a test set up for peripheral displays? I still get all sorts of weird duplication issues when connecting / disconnecting displays from my laptop which runs Groupy.
I could provide specific examples, but frankly it happens so clearly and consistently that I think it would just be easier for your team to replicate and troubleshoot.
Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, strangely, I can not reproduce your issue on my system.
May I know you on Windows 10 or 11? Also need Windows full version number. Use Winver.exe
Win11 enterprise
4K screen + 2K screen or 4K screen + 1080p screen
My Groupy 2 was bought from Steam.
Hope this info can help.
Please try uninstall groupy2, reboot immediately after, re-download latest version, install it, reboot and retest it. Report back.
The same behavior, a huge transparency space when the third tab is open.
