Hi,
first of all i want to say its great to get a Sins 2. And its nice to see the better graphics.
And also i need to say something about the game by now.
If i buy a Part 2 i wish some kind of brand new things. Changing game mechanics and including some kind of noble raw materials is not really something new if the rest doesnt change. I had hoped for a storyline with first some small ships and unlocking better the more i proceed in the campaign.
The next thing i wished for was a new race. This had been fun to discover. And some kind of brand new capital ships.
What doesnt work is scolling through planets when they reach low monitor border.
All in all its disappointing what i see til now. Even the promised Vasari race in "spring 2023" is still not playable. And spring ends in a week.
To sum up : Disappointing that there is almost nothing new just a push to gamemechanics and a little extra that could also be included in Sins 1 with a bigger "Add on patch". And also the graphics are really nice and the new layout of the Capital ships is really nice. I hope there will be a gloom graphic push like in Sins 1 to make the ships reflect and shine.
Are you sure you knew what state the game would be in before you bought it? It's a technical preview still. The other 2 factions will arrive, devs can never be 100% sure when and there's no obligation for them to do exactly as they said before; and even then, as you funnily enough say, spring isn't even over yet.
There will also be one new capital ship in the TEC, so I assume that goes for all three factions. Titans will have improved features as well. Components are new, planet management is new, exploring is more rewarding (the old uninhabitable 'planets' should arrive in the future as well), the celestial bodies now actually orbit, minor factions will be expanded upon, as you mention there are exotics now. There's enough new stuff already while the game isn't even half complete.
"There will be no campaign (on release)" is something they've said before as well. It really feels like you tricked yourself into thinking you bought something else than you did, and that's no one's fault but your own.
"Disappointing that there is almost nothing new just a push to gamemechanics"
They created an amazing game. Then for years loyal fans asked and begged them to leave it the same just upgrade it for modern systems. That context is very important, the most loyal backers served as the guiding rod to sins 2 development. It stands to reason what they release first will echo the sentiment of the people that engaged with them for many years before they announced sins 2. Anything we get beyond an upgraded engine is a gift as far as myself and many others are concerned.
"a little extra that could also be included in Sins 1 with a bigger "Add on patch"
The new engine alone makes all of this worth it. A new addon to sins 1 would not be enough.
"Even the promised Vasari race in "spring 2023" is still not playable. And spring ends in a week."
They are a small company and we are all excited. There are bound to over estimates. They are following the same track record they have had for previous sins games only with better content being released so I am pretty sure we can expect great stuff from them to continue!
Good News! In their most recent update post the confirmed new fleet mechanics have been moved up and are coming and titans were released. Definitive proof that they are reading these forums and taking feedback seriously given how vocal those two topics have been.Feedback that points out specific and tangible experiences, (positive and negative) and outlines a path for ways to improve that are our best bet.
Sins II, like Sins I, will have a very long development roadmap.
The first key thing was to rewrite the entire game engine from the ground up. That was done this past February.
The next thing was to get some of the most asked for mechanics into the game (planets rotating, more detailed weapon systems, lots of feature tweaks and enhancements). That was done in March.
The next thing is to get the game into a fully completed core game experience with the TEC (both Loyalists and Rebels) as the centerpiece. That's where we are as I write this.
Then we can look at what comes next. The Vasari, the Advent and of course the things beyond. There will be updates, delays and no doubt twists and turns along the way. But we'll get there.
The biggest issue with Sins 1 was that it was 32-bit. We literally couldn't fit anything more in it. There was no scenario a 4th race would get added to it because of the RAM requirements. But Sins II? Well, those limits are gone.
I like the state of the game, and the general direction keep up the good work
(Any maybe modify the missile cruisers a little bit light cruiser / heavy frigate)
Oh baby dont threaten me with a good time!haha
You know that "almost" doesnt mean" eveything"!?!I played Sin 1 many, many times. And all i saw in Sin 2 til the time i worte my comment - there was almost nothing new!Even the 6th battleship from Sin 1 is til now NOT included in the game! And you are wrong with campagne! As i bought the game with all the battle passes it was clear they are working on a 4th race and a whole single player campagne! Why do you think you know the time i bought the game and what was communicated then!?!
And one thing that really could have worked better is communication! No one says that all must work in time. But communication is All.Actually there is not even a roadmap when 4th race and/or campagne will maybe come.I know some other small companies too that communicate much more often and open. And even a small company can do better within 14 years.A good friend of mine is programmer by herself. And if something doesnt work then she communicates. What the hell is so impossible to communicate better?
I fully agree with you. It is advisable to release all the updated content this year.
I really liked the game. New dlcs.
