Hi and please help,
I was using Fences many years ago on another machine and now planned to get started again with the new version.
BUT, I'm unable to right-click and enable fences at the desktop, also unable to make any fences at the desktop.
SW seems ,,not to run,,
I have read tips and tricks in the forum, from similar cases but still without any success.
- Installation seems ok.
- In the Task Manager - Fences Settings, 2 lines are running as ,,enabled,,
- I am able to adjust things inside the App Customize Fences, where also enable fences are clicked.
I have done uninstall and re-install, as-well as playing to move all folders into one folder.. nothing works.

OS build 19045.2788

Should it look like this? I mean only this one is without any installed size in MB's - download worked properly and counted up to slightly more than 12 MB I recall.

Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please try purge and reinstall steps as mention here : [Link]. Just make sure to download the latest version from the link mention in this post: https://forums.stardock.com/517370/get;3881371 (reply#2). Reboot after the purge. Install and reboot again after the installation. Retest and report back here.

Hi, I did as you proposed but accidently started 2 installations (I thought it was intended initially), when the first installation was done I could see it worked in the background (and I could make a fence) yippie, ... Therefor I tried to stop the other installation but during that process needed to purge and reboot, and I was convince the new file would make the trick, BUT now then I've tried numerous times again and now the new .exe file does not make it work for me... bummer
any idea what I could do now?
Now when purging, I get this message:

Attention: There still is a difference between just running things in an administrator account or right clicking and chose 'Run as Administrator'. I would try the 2nd.
Now I did the purge, as run as administrator.. and then installed again .. but still doesn't work
now looking like this
after this I got the message Uninstallation complete and then rebooted ...
Now uninstalled
So, now you have it uninstalled and rebooted, yes? Has you reinstall using that latest version I mentioned above? Reboot again. Retested?

Yes started this morning with uninstalled and rebooted - YES and now just tried again;
- Installing using your directed .exe file from answer nr.2, and then rebooted...
Unfortunately - doesn't work yet.
It feels lite download goes very fast and the time it did work it took longer time, so is the download file complete?
Then when trying to launch - really all is dead, the program do not start, I'm just playin around in Customize Fences but I'm unable to do any fences...
Since you on Windows 10 Pro, can you try installing in Sandbox: https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#sandbox. This is to check if there is error in the downloaded file and/or something else causing it.
It seems like my computer doesn't meet requirements to run sandbox.
Today I have tried a number of times to uninstall and install, but without success.
I'm thinking maybe it's the product key you've sent me that doesn't activate the program properly? Could you please send me a new Product key to my mail and I could try that.

Just a thought: What processor do You have?
Just to clarify, you do have a key for Fences V4 and you are not using Fences V3 to activate V4,yes?

I have no earlier version of Fences installed (no v3) and I have earlier this week bought the Fences V4 key directly from Stardock.

I attach here s clip with running programs and as you see there is very little ongoing since the machine is just cleaned and reinstalled so I would consider this as pretty much clean boot already.
Basically the only installed program beyond windows, is the office 2021 pro

One thing You could still try:
Run purge again with rightclick as admin
Winkey+R; paste shutdown /g /f /t 0 and press Enter
That one forces Windows to restart without still holding any processes in memory to fake a speedy reboot.
Re-Install fences, click "no" in case it wants to restart.
To avoid anything again Winkey+R; paste shutdown /g /f /t 0 and press Enter.
