Thank you for your interest and any time you put into making Start11 a better product.
Version updated to 1.4.1.1 (1.41 in UI)
Addresses the issue with parts of the tray not painting when in experimental center mode on Win11 22H2 KB5022913 and a further tweak to taskbar transparency being lost due to an OS bug on the same update.
Version updated to 1.4.1.0
Fix for taskbars without blur losing transparency after screen change events when on KB5022913 due to a new OS bug
Fix for Win10 menu mode being left in A-Z picker mode if closed when in that mode
Fix for Win10/11 folder groups having the wrong order of icons painted when collapsed sometimes
Fixed an issue with if you set a custom taskbar color to black and then disable blur and set transparency to 0% (aka fully transparent) then the taskbar turned solid instead
Updated localization files with new text.
Version updated to 1.4.0.5 (1.4 in UI)
A fix for the taskbar controls being misaligned on the taskbar on a tablet when you have, at some point, used a custom scaling factor and have resized the taskbar.
A tweak for resizing taskbars in that mode to workaround a rounding error and refreshes the taskbar blur after screen resolution changes etc.
Adjusted small mode taskbar to have larger icons on ‘KB5022913’ as the start button + taskview etc buttons are larger on that OS in that state so increased to match a bit better
Version updated to 1.4.0.4 (1.4 in UI)
Fixes the position of the new search box on the taskbar with ‘KB5022913’ when the multiline taskbar is enabled or the taskbar is on top.
Small-mode taskbar items now have a wider active indicator bar under them
A tweak to the detection of the touch-optimized taskbar capable hardware
A tweak to swapping from large/small icons when switched to autohide mode
Improved WB compatibility so a WB skin now correctly shrinks the start button
Versioned as 1.4.0.3 on the file itself (1.4 in UI)
Fixes a slow taskbar issue with enhanced taskbar on
Makes the search box shift over correctly when clicked when the taskbar is showing the search box and Start11 is in experimental center mode
Fixes a jump to invisible default buttons issue on the config when jumping to default buttons is enabled in some mouse driver
Allows the taskbar to paint black
Tweaks the sync pins code to see if that helps with a report of it looping.
Forces autohide taskbars to medium bar size as the new Windows 11 taskbar only supports that
Build updated to 1.4.0.2 (Start 11 ‘About’ will still read 1.4, however).
Addressing compatibility issues associated with KB5022913
Fixed the issue with the secondary taskbars when in only show buttons on the monitor the window is on mode and also a fix for the line on the taskbar not appearing over some parts of the taskbar correctly
Updated S11 to 1.4 which (hopefully) will address the issues introduced with the new Windows taskbar in Windows 11 build: 22621.1324 and beta/dev channel insider
Known issues
While we appreciate all feedback, please remember that we offer no official support for beta \ preview \ developer channel versions of Windows. If you report issues while in any of those early release channels, you should not expect them to be addressed unless it still exists in a retail version of Windows.

I'm unable to update Start11 or Fences on my computer. I don't know if this is a Start11 issue, an Object Desktop issue, a licensing issue, or something else.
Since I don't know what is causing the failure to upgrade after clicking the Start11 "Update" button in Object Desktop, it's a product bug for all I know. Doesn't that interest anyone to take a look at it, just in case it is a bug?
Didn't work on latest beta insider build (22621.1343). No tray icons at all and taskbar too big if set to small.
Uninstall, reboot and reinstall as it may be files have not been replaced correctly.

Just an FYI from someone who is on the Dev/Insider program.
Transparent taskbar is back but clicking any icon or widget other than the menu icon cuts the taskbar and icons in half no matter what the setting or size of the taskbar. Refreshing explorer fixes it but happens again on the next click.
Yes, I did an uninstall, reboot and reinstall.
This may only be on the Dev program, so I don't expect any attention to it.

Are you using a machine which might be considered a tablet? I.e. touch screen etc?
Yes. I should have mentioned that. Surface Pro 5 (2017)
Sorry but not working for me
First, i uninstalled Start11 then -> REBOOTInstalling the demonic KB5022913 -> REBOOTInstalling Start11 1.4Beta -> REBOOT
Then this is the result :
As you can see, no systray (i see help bubbles, so it should be hidden behind something),No "Small" taskbar, only small icons,Weird texture between start buttton and taskbar :/
Way to fix it :
Uninstall KB or uncheck taskbar enhancement on Start11.
Anyway thank you very much for the effort. Keep going !
How many monitors do you have? Also is Windows set to use the touch optimized taskbar?
And is your taskbar set to autohide?
I have the same problem with the Windows build "22621.1344".I have to turn off the taskbar, otherwise I miss all taskbar icons.
A clean uninstall, reboot and reinstall did not change this.
I have only one monitor. These are my settings. Note that the option to optimize for tablet is not available. I'm not sure why. But autohide is off.
I think thats probably whats causing the issue.
I have seen it not show for unknown reasons on a tablet myself. I think the detection code is buggy.
We have made a small adjustment for the next build as it thinks you are in tablet mode when you are not.
We believe we have found the issue. A small version number detection issue on that specific build vs the dev/beta channel builds. A fix is in the works for that specific build.
start orb is little bigger than taskbar
For Windows 11 users who have downloaded the optional KB5022913 and are seeing issues with their taskbars we have an early build that we believe resolves your issues.
Download Start11 1.4 279
As with all pre-release builds like this, this is an out-of-band update that may (although unlikely) require you to manually update future releases and we only recommend installing this build if you are currently seeing issues with your instance of Start11. There are no new features in this release as it's a compatibility update.
New bugs:
- With the taskbar ungrouped and centered, the system tray area completely disappears.
- When Microsoft Outlook is hidden to the system tray, clicking it's system tray icon restores the app to a minimized state instead of a visible state.
The second one of those is unlikely to be anything to do with Start11. Clicks on the tray are not handled by Start11.
On the first I assume you have updated to the preview win 11 build. If you update to the Start11 build linked by Brad Sams in the post above yours it should resolve this.
Thanks! That solved my issue. The taskbar no longer gets cut in half.
I'm not on a Windows Insider build, but did install the latest update from Windows Update today. Will try the linked version.
Can confirm that this fixes the jank, but now the system tray is single row and about a third of my screen at 4k (i have a lot of system tray apps). Is there a way to get this to 2 rows of icons? If I resize the taskbar higher, I get two rows of taskbar apps, but the system tray is still only one row of icons spanning the entire height (even if it's 3+ rows for taskbar). Thanks.
Photo for reference of above.

Unfortunately thats how Microsoft now do the tray. The newer tray moves away from the old tray which could be made multiline to a new one which is coded to be a single line only.
Great, the Brad Sams version does fix it and I see the system tray again with the start menu centered, and taskbar ungrouped.
Thank you!
