This issue has been on-going for multiple versions of StartXX product (Start11 and Start10 for sure while I also own licenses for Start 8).
Now that most of us download Microsoft Windows applications from Microsoft Store, those are Modern UI a.k.a. Universal Applications.
Well, Microsoft Store-installed Universal Applications do show under Start11, Start10, Start8, yet any attempt to launch the app crashes and resets the Windows shell.
Any attempt to navigate away from the on-screen displayed list of Universal Applications if you have just hoovered over any Universal Application crashes and resets the Windows shell.
None of the Universal Applications are launchable from the Start11/10 menu, and as I said, this has been an issue for a while and with multiple versions of StartXX product.
I have three Windows 11 x64 machines, and they all display the same behavior.
This is not normal for Start11 (or 10)
What other software are you using as it sounds like a compatibility issue?
Thank you for the lead. I have a lot of apps installed, but not running them at startup. This allowed for me to nail down the issue to... Grammarly.
Running Grammarly for Windows (in the background in the system tray) is crashing Start11.
