Galactic Civilizations IV released earlier this year and we're excited to bring you this v1.1 update with tons of quality of life improvements! Community feedback is important to us and we're surfing our forums and Discord daily, noting suggestions, bugs, and changes you'd like to see.
We have been paying special attention to reports on issues that impact your enjoyment of the game. v1.1 is dedicated to fixing those, which include fixes for typos, certain policies that weren't working correctly, and several instances that were triggering crashes.
You can read a full log of the changes here. Feel free to ask questions of the dev team and leave comments letting us know where you've run into problems. GalCiv IV has a long life ahead of it and we will continue to make improvements and give you the best game experience that we possibly can!
Didn't enjoy the upgrade at all. I don't speak English. You promised multitranslation
Hi Lester,
I'm sorry that the update was not something you found enjoyable. We are working on translating into other languages, but please remember that GalCiv IV has no small amount of text! We are juggling many priorities and are continuing to do our best. When we have a more precise update on timing for translation, we will be sure to let the community know.
Have a lovely rest of the week!
Hi. The 1.1 release thread you pointed to there are only two UI improvements listed in the OP. I skimmed the full thread and didn't see anything like a list in a follow-up post. I got very excited by the headline here because, for me, the QoL in 1.0 was very bad.
I'm a GC player from the first Windows version (I forget the name of the OS that Brad wrote the original version for). I'd love to be a GC4 booster, but the UI at release was too painful for me to even get very far into a game.
OS/2. I loved that game.
The Gerontocracy Knows All
I believe I still have (in a box somewhere) boxed copies of OS/2 Warp and Merlin both, as well as the original Galciv for OS/2.
(sigh...)
When reading "Experience Quality of Life Improvements", I hoped to see the update allowing another seller, i.e. Steam, as Epic is a no-no for me...
Well, I will wait then a bit more. After all, the game will become better and better patch after patch, DLCs after DLCs, and a day I will buy the full version and go beyond the hours I enjoyed on GC3... (1617.7h...)
