WindowBlinds first released in 1999! The idea that we could change the look of our PC from the default settings was entirely new and exciting. WindowBlinds was the first program that let users customize the look and feel of the Windows GUI and is still widely popular today.
With WindowBlinds 11 in active development, I had a thought... how many of the skins we see in WindowBlinds 11, were included in the earlier versions? While the skin I am showing below wasn't in the original WindowBlinds, it has been in since 2009!
Here is 'Diamond' back in 2009...
Here is 'Diamond' today (currently in dev...)
I love this skin because it's clean... check back for part 2 where I will feature another long-standing skin.
Too bad it looked better back then
Its Funny how nostalgia can bring about completely opposite reactions. I have never used the default skins that come with WB as i find them too simple and clean, always liked Darker stuff that has a lot more going on especially with The Start Menu and Taskbar, other peeps love the revival and look of older times, each to there own though. Its the same with me for Tech Hardware, i have zero interest now in the machines of old i used to use, i do remember the Amstrad 464 and then the 6128, ages to load a game, the first using a tape deck, listening to the beeps and tones forever.
Lost in brightness and retro hell all in one.
I do kind of like the taskbar image itself on the old one, maybe I'll go fishing through my archives to see if I can find it and tack a substyle onto the new version.
*Diamond* - One of my Fav's!
Life was great with Windows7 , it looked awesome and worked great. How exactly have the latest versions of Windows improved my life ?? THEY HAVEN'T

The issue with this new version is the blur on the taskbar is outside of where there are no graphics around the edges and corners. Does not look right to me.
Also on WB11 1.0 (WindowBlinds 11.00 (011 x64 - Windows 11 Edition) - 64 bit OS)?
Actually figured out the cause of it. Restarting explorer with start11 seems to trigger it. Re-applying the theme makes it go away. Though the caption buttons seem to be messed up only in stardock apps.
I couldn't agree more
