I no longer have the entry. Can this be activated or is it completely missing in Windows 11?
and why doesnt remember fences settings windows position and size?
Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. I believe, Windows 11 has change it context menu, so that non-essential items, according to Microsoft, will be hidden. Fences will be hidden under "Show more options->View->Configure Fences"
There is a function in Fences that restore layout snapshot if/when the layout of Fences change.
ThanksBasj,Stardock Community Assistant.
Thanks. I mean the position and size of the "config window" of fences. Not the fences itself.
4.0.7.2 is installed with this problem.
Please try purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here: [Link]. Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account page. Reboot after the purge. Reinstall and reboot again after the installation. Retest and report back here.
Thank you,Basj,Stardock Community Assistant.
it is a fresh install with win11 and fences 4.0.7.2
No solution? If I reinstall all, then my fences settings gone?
How I said, it is a fresh install, so why should it solve the problem?
Hello,I have forward your problem/question to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.

Since this takes ages here, I've now run "purge" and reinstalled. It was of course clear that this would not help.
Problem still exists!
I just want to check and be sure I am on the same page. Are we talking about the Right-Click menu not having the previous Fences options?

I am seeing the same thing since upgrading to Win 11 22H2. I can find Fences under the Show more options - View menu.
Well, I could. I just opened Fences to put my icons back in order and check for updates, now it no longer appears under the Show more options - View menu. Very strange.
Edit: I can see the Configure Fences option under Show more options - View again. No reboots or anything, I just walked away for a little while.
do you now understand what I mean? I don't mean the right click menu of windows anymore.
If I open the fences settings, they are always small and left-top position. Why doesn't fences remember last position and size of the settings window?
Take a screenshot. I have never encountered what you are describing, and I have to open Fences regularly to restore my layout because of one goofy screen connected to HDMI.
I didn't mean to hijack your thread, but it looks like everyone went down the same wrong path I did.
Hello hybrid79,
Yes, please post a screenshot or a video grap of your issue so we can understand your issue.
Thank you,
Here are 2 pics. resized and center positioned the settings window. after reopening open left and small. Can not upload a desktop video record here. only spinner visible.
May I know what is your monitor resolution and scaling(100%,125% etc)
Note: For videos you can upload to any video sharing site like youtube or vimeo and post its link here.
100% in 2560x1440.
I still cannot reproduce your issue on my system. Here a video I made with my system at 2560x1440 at 100%.
That's strange. Like you do in your video, i want it. But it doesn't work.
Fences is the newest stable. Windows 11 ist newest version too.
With purge and reinstall, it wouldn't work too.
Video Driver? Latest? also try Cleanboot: https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#cleanboot
Yes it is Nvidia and latest. I will do the clean boot later, if I am at home.
So if this error not occurs at your side, it must be a problem in my system...
Unsure, but, from what I remember no other similar report from others on this one.
So nothing works, cleanboot doesn't help. I quits background-apps too.
But I have a newer Win-Version. Perhaps you can try this.
I've found the problem. In Fences settings my language is set to "german". If I switch to english en-uk, the problem is solved.
But that'ts not a good option
