Thank you for your interest and any time you put into making WindowBlinds 11 a better product.
Well, I was wrong, it still isn't fixed.
Ok.
My resolution is 1440p. I use windows blind, cursor fx, and object dock. Those should not interfere.
Scaling is 100%
And that is that I suppose.
Text is Finnish, but most likely easy to recognize.
A quick note, Object Dock is not supported on Windows 10 and 11.

Installing skins from within windowblinds app was failing because I had controlled folder access enabled in windows security...disabling it now wb works
task bar not change I'm really sad
Can you post a screenshot of what you are seeing and also what version of Windows (exact build number please)
Vista style start buttons do not work like they use to (Use to extend above the taskbar a little). They get cut off. This is present in windowblinds 10 as well. Its been a thing ever since windows 10. Can you guys look into finally fixing it in wb11. Thanks!
How it worked back then:
As for the auto/light/dark mode options. Selecting dark mode makes all theme window frames/caption buttons darker for some reason
Thats perfectly normal for it to make things darker as thats the entire point of the feature.
Any window thats dark mode aware will get darker versions of the theme parts. An author can define their own dark mode images or let WB handle it.
With regards to start buttons that isn't a bug, it is likely in the future further restrictions will come in limiting you to 48x48 pixels due to upcoming changes in the OS.
Isn't anyone else having my issue? Odd that support isn't addressing it. Maybe I need to start my own thread.
BTW... here are some screenshots of before hovering over SysTray when icons are gone and after hovering when they come back.

I've got you Redneck Dude!
Currently writing up a bug report for it, I'll post the internal ID for the report when I get it finished up

Please refer to internal ticket #ODNT-3919. That's what Jim originally saw, the failure of the non-blurred transparency that appeared in Start11 v1.24 (or at least subsequent to v1.22). I don't know if that's related to the anomaly he's seeing in the blurred transparency.
Thanks.
Yeah, but even doing what DaveRI said, I still have the issue.
Oh, and uninstalling Start11 didn't fix my issue.
Is the public beta for WB11 not listed as a beta in my downloads?
Not listed as beta in my downloads either.
I am not a fan of the naming construct (in the industry) but it's sold as a regular product would be thus it's not like the betas we issue for other products that are opt-in.

When I try to apply a style I am given the following error message and no style is applied.
'WindowsBlinds does not appear to be installed correctly on your machine, would you like to try to fix this issue now?'
Clicking yes does not resolve the issue, I have also tried restarting and reinstalling the app.

I should say its not OS limited for the start button size. Startallback/startisback both allow the start button to do the vista style orb no problem. All that program does is re-enables the original taskbar that is still in the os itself. Works flawlessly on windows 11 as we speak. So there has to be a similar work a round for windowblinds. If not add an option in windowblinds to not even touch the taskbar/start button for those who wish to use other 3rd party apps for the start menu. I cannot use the skins as intended if wb does not give that option.
Pictured is startallback using a vista msstyle. (Native windows theme file)

As noted above, upcoming changes to the OS will very much limit the space available for buttons. Please also note we worry about the native taskbar not third party solutions.
Open shell does the start button as well without modifying any os stuff. So why is start11 limited on that then? if an open source community could get it working fine, why not a company that is paid software cant?
