Hello,
I'm currently using Fences 4 (v4.0.7.2) on my desktop and ran into a spot that I need some help with.
I know that I can create a fence to be used as a folder portal. However, all I'm seeing is that I can do it a folder that is currently on my PC. I was wondering if there was a way to create a folder portal fence for folders in the cloud or network shared folders?
Currently, I have to create a desktop shortcut for the cloud folder or network shared folder. Then I move that shortcut into a normal fence that I create.
Any assistance would be appreciated!
Thank you,
Jim
I have forwarded your report to the Stardock support team for their review and recommendations.
Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates.
We really do appreciate your feedback, thanks.
Both are possible.
For cloud, any sync'd files that exist on your local drive can be navigated to. What is not possible is for Fences to access the cloud destination directly.
For network, while one could navigate to a network location directly with \\, the most common method is to map the network location as a drive on the local PC and navigate to it.

I was specifically looking to see if I could be a fence portal to a folder on my work OneDrive and to a folder in my work SharePoint.
Any destination that can be reached through Windows Explorer on your PC can be accessed via a Fences folder portal.
