Thank you for your interest and any time you put into making Start11 a better product.

You are more than welcome to turn off auto updates to stick on a version you wish to continue to use.
I fixed the issue myself and would like to share that I was right, the animation that Windows executes on the autohide the taskbar is permanently affecting Start11 ability to quickly close the Task Manager.
Knowing this I went the other way. I disabled the autohide animation on Windows and use this instead to hide the taskbar
https://www.softwareok.com/?seite=Microsoft/AutoHideDesktopIcons
You should thank that guy, this completely solved the lag in the Task Manager closing because this program does not do any animation whatsoever and since windows thinks the taskbar is showing all the time, it does not affect Start11 either.
A quick alternative would be for you guys to implement a native auto-hide taskbar without the native Windows way of doing it, that way you will skip the animation bug.
I'm sorry but that solution won't work for when you cannot go back. You will never know when a new update will break your perfectly stable version.
The best way would be to either you implement one or two of these:
Issue:
Clicking on the Start icon sometimes does not open the Start11 or opens it and closes it immediately. This issue doesn't occur always, but is consistent and eventually after several times ends up occurring.

Is it with a specific menu type or all of them?

After a short time, the Start11 menu (v1.25) is displayed offset to the top of the screen. Uninstalling and reinstalling did nothing. As soon as I restart Explorer via the Start11 configuration, the menu is back in the correct position. Windows 11 version is 22622.436 (22H2), the display is scaled to 150% (res. 2560×1440). The problem already existed in v1.24.
I have a similar problem occasionally as I described in my ignored? post (on page 2). I don't have Object Dock, so I think it may be unrelated to Object Dock. Please try the solution and tell us how it went.
Despite me finding that workaround, I still have to restart explorer from Start11 program after every reboot. Occasionally programs with no title bar such as Emacs seem to cause the problem to appear again.
New problem found: Windows notifications appear in the bottom right corner anyway. Additionally they are click through so that: when I click X to close them and have the Start11's start menu open, then Start11 registers the click onto underlying Shutdown button and I already had a few of unwanted shutdowns! Very annoying to lose work!
Additional problem found: Win+d shortcut doesn't work anymore. Not sure whether this is caused by Start11 and/or Fences4.
Issue: Clicking on the Start icon sometimes does not open the Start11 or opens it and closes it immediately. This issue doesn't occur always, but is consistent and eventually after several times ends up occurring.Video for reference...
I have exactly the same thing, but instead the opening works fine with mouse button, but closing closes and reopens the Start11 menu instead. This happens here everytime though.
Some troubleshooting to help the issue be solved sooner:
Esc key works fine just as Win key.
Bug 1: The Start11 menu opens up immediately on mouse button down instead of on mouse button up. In any case This is not OK and is non-standard.
Bug 2: When the Start11 menu is open, then the closing with mouse button causes the Bug 1 to happen.
Bug 3: The Start11 menu closes immediately on mouse button down instead of on mouse button up.
I know the way it is supposed to be speeds up things, but I suggest to have this as an option instead, because misintentional clicks are a bad UX.
Regards .
I have all animations in Windows system disabled. (They are just some stupid delays, relicts from age of slow CPUs, they reduce productivity, wasting my time and reducing flow). Maybe try disabling them all to see if it changes anything?
Like all previous versions, I get constant explorer.exe crashes when doing things like cliking icons
Hi emjh,
Sounds like you have another product that is conflicting with Start11, I would recommend trying a clean boot and see if that fixes it

I've just tried disabling them and nope, it doesn't fix the issue.
No one from tech support has at least acknowledged my posts yet here).
New problem I have found: (I previously was not sure whether it is related to Start11.) Always after the procedure of: switching to integrated graphics only (the computer's OEM software allows this) with hibernating and resuming and sleeping and resuming again, then the Start11 blacks out the entire screen and flashes occasionally. I can't use anything when that happens, all is obscured. Eventually, the dialog box of „program is not responding” appears (I have enabled some tweaks to make such dialog boxes happen sooner than the usual too long on windows), and I can close Start11 with it.
So, so far there are at least 3 sets of problems. I really like the software except when it bugs me.
Can anyone from Tech Support at at least let me know, that they see my posts? I paid for this software, please don't treat me like an unworthy user.
regards
Hi
Same problem still exists: when hovering over a task bar icon (eg Outlook) it displays another app (eg Teams) and when cleaned goes to Teams. Really really annoying as you have to use Alt Tab to scroll through to Outlook.
However, and this may help, it occurs only on the designated main screen when using multiple monitors. The other connected monitors including the Surface Pro work fine.
If I unplug the SP8, (and it reverts to becoming the main screen) it inherits the problem.
Does that makes sense? something to do with selecting a display as the main screen.

I've just tested all of them and it seems like it's an issue for all of them.
same problem here: https://forums.stardock.com/513541/page/1/#3858578
Start11 settings window freezes very often on the Win11 interface. It is then still operable (buttons), but no longer has any effect and can only be remedied by restarting.
Hi APONFSAOSF,
I would recommend a clean boot to see if there is another program conflicting with Start11. I cannot reproduce this on my end.
Are any of you using a similar product? (Explorer Patcher, StartAllBack, ect) If so, please uninstall those products and test your Start11 issue without them.
Taskbar opens offset to the right, when you hover over it, it will move over to the left. It doesn't happen consistently.
If you don't use an individual Start button, the Start menu doesn't open every 5-10 click and gets stuck. If you then click again, it suddenly closes, although it was not visible at all, or nothing happens.
So the menu seams to be opened, but you don't see it.
The problem does not exist if you open the menu with the Windows key or use an individual Start button.
I believe I was able to reproduce what you are seeing on my Win11 Preview box:

I have created an internal ticket to have it looked at.
Internal Ref: ODNT-4236
Thanks for the feedback.
Is there any idea how to solve this issue reported days back? It's annoying for me to restart Explorer each time I open a new Brave Browser profile.
1) Start 11 v 1.25 Windows 7 Style will not start the Windows 11 Start menu when I click on the icon in The Start11 menu.2) on Ctrl + Start 11 Button click Windows 11 will not start the Windows 11 Start menu.
Just wild guess: I have used the Winaero Tweaker to switch to classic taskbar, so it is possible that this is causing the issue? As a workaround I switch the Start11 to Widows 11 Style when I really need to access it.
I tried to reverse the Winaero Tweaker setting to disable the cassic taskbar setting and as result both issues from my post "Reply #97" have disappeared. When I use Start 11 setting for Taskbar size, I achieve roughly the same thing as with the mentioned Tweaker setting, so other Start 11 users my want to stay away from it

No, only Start11 and Windows 11 clean install
Does this reproduce without Start11 installed?
Taskbar looks normal if I turn off Start11 taskbar enhancement. But I bought a Start11 license to be able to ungroup applications there.
