Are you using ObjectDock?
yes, v2.20
This is the cause of the problem.
ObjectDock is not supported on Windows 10 or 11 due to a number of issues and unfortunately it can cause the Start11 start menu to jump to the top of the screen.
That's bad, I've been using ObjectDock for years on Windows 10 and now on Windows 11 and I'm very happy with it.Will there be an update for ObjectDock for Windows 11?
I have an issue with Start11 + Explorer Patcher. I'm using vertical taskbar.
Problem is that Control Center and WiFi flyouts are not working when Start11 is enabled.
Video with the issue:
Windows 11 21H2 22000.795
Explorer Patcher 22000.778.47.1
Can you provide a video of this happening over time - where its good, then not working, then the fix?

I will try tomorrow...
No, however although it was not supported in either 10 or 11 some people did have 'luck' with it in 10.
The same cannot be said with 11 as that OS is substantially different to 10...
Start11 and Firefox were the only two things installed in the sandbox environment. Got the same result, with new windows opening unexpectedly on left-click, and taskbar previews not responding to left-click at all (previews only respond to long-hover with taskbar enhancements enabled).
I also have an additional issue where the Start11 taskbar opens on the monitor where the mouse cursor is currently located, instead of always opening on the primary monitor. This also doesn't match the default Windows start menu behavior, and there doesn't seem to be a way to configure it otherwise.
I'm currently using the trial on multiple computers. I'd like to see some of these bugs squashed before I make a purchase.
I'll get that regkey exported, zipped, and sent off for analysis. Thanks!

Thanks, it was probably ObjectDock after all, I uninstalled it and so far the error hasn't come back.

BTW - I specifically bought Start 11 to have the taskbar at the top of the screen. However, it's a mess when used at the top. I am putting up with it at the bottom of the screen until you can get it fixed. But this is a mess also.
I have completely removed Start 11 and settings and reinstalled it with no relief from the problem.
Thanks
Too bad that support is ignoring issues.
Yeah, very disappointed from the first release. I tested the beta and reported problems with Taskbar at the top. The product was released anyway.
Hi
Using Windows 11 21H2 (22000.795)Have been experiencing this issue for a few updates of Windows and Start11, where when you hover your mouse over an icon in the task bar, it displays a different icon's window as the preview, and then clicking on that icon opens up a different app or nothing at all.
One thing I do different is run my display in 125% zoom. Not sure if this affects Start11.
Huh..?
Can you link me to the report, please?
The 125% should be fine but I want to be clear on what 'zoom' means here - are you using magnifier as well?
If you do a clean boot, are you still seeing it then under that condition?

I cannot reproduce the issues from your previous posts, if you could record video of these issues, that would be great
Do you happen to have Windows 11 PRO? If you do could you test Start11 in Windows Sandbox

If you have the home version could you try a clean boot:

I am on Win 11 Pro. However, that doesn't work. After installing in the sandbox you need to reboot for Start 11 to run. Once the sandbox is rebooted, Start 11 is no longer installed.

I suspect you are guessing at that as it would not be the case in actuality. S11 would not prompt anyone to reboot in a new Sandbox as it was never installed prior - the only time S11 (any SD product) would prompt one to reboot.
Not sure if this is the right place for this as I know this started some time in between Start 7/Start 8 and Start 11 ... basically search results don't return batch (.bat) files when they're located inside your "Start Menu" folder (ie; C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu).
It sounds out there but I've relied on this for some time -- it lets me make simple batch files to launch things like FireFox instances with different profiles etc, then quickly access them via the search.
Let me know if there is a better place to report this, love Start11/etc but really miss this.
Thank you!
Hey, I know what I saw on the prompt after installing. I'm not making it up. Try it yourself.

Hi Sean Drohan
I am not using a magnifier. If you goto Display Settings, you can adjust your display from 100% to 125% or 150%. This "zooms" all apps, etc. so the view is larger in general. Nice feature when using a very high-res display and things are just too small. I am not going to do a "clean" start or a Sandbox or anything else like that. Even though I am an experienced IT person, I do not have the time to diagnose a product which I paid for.
When I install Start11, and use only the Windows11 Start menu, the issue is not there, so clearly it is related to Start11. If I restart my laptop, everything works 100% for a while, and then it start "shuffling" the thumbnail previous onto the wrong app icon. That's where my testing ends.
Other than this, I enjoy the product and will continue using it, hoping that the developers can figure out why this is happening and fix it.
Regards
I was having the exact same issue as Ingo2311, it has happened with every version of S11 and discovered the problem was ObjectDock V2.20 only by reading his posts!.
My 'fix', uninstal ObjectDock and use a very similar dock program that is easily as old as the original ObjectDock.......RocketDock 1.3.5 by Punklabs. Its no longer in development but it runs in Windows 11, alongside Start 11 without the problems he and I have seen.

The TaskBar taking time to close (laggy) bug is here again.
Windows 10 LTSC 2021.
Sadly this time I cannot fix it by just "disabling" the show start button. It is completely unfixable from my end. I need to uninstall Start11.
Maybe it should be a good idea to have a stable version for people that keep using Windows 10 instead of you guys throwing new features and breaking what was already working.
I found why it broke this time.
I have an OLED display so obviously I have the taskbar set to Autohide. Aparently, Start11 is "waiting" every time the Task Manager is closed.
The time it wait seems to be connected to the animation time for the "autohide" on the taskbar, yet I am not touching the taskbar which is already hidden. If I remove the autohide, everything works correctly.
Without Start11, everything works perfectly fine, with or without the autohide.
Even if I go ahead and completely disable all Animation within windows, as long as the Taskbar is hidden, I will have a delay when closing Task Manager.
