Bought Fences the year it came out. Upgraded for my new Windows 11 Desktop. Text in the various shortcuts has always been white. Two days ago it became light blue and yesterday black. I want my white titling. Is this a Stardock fix or is it Windows 11?
Thanks.
You can adjust that colour in settings. In the latest version you can find it here:
Thanks, greatly appreciated.
Sorry, didn't work. Still need help.
Mine is the latest version of Fences downloaded this after setting up my new DELL XPS desktop with Windows 11 a day or two ago. Page says only "Adjust label text color" which I did but that is only the name I give the particular Fence which is white. Appears there is no way to fix the Shortcuts as again today they started out blue then with a restart became black. Seems like an inherent Stardock defect for WIN 11. I still have my old XPS as well as an Inspiron. Both have fences and the shortcuts on both are, and always have been, white.
The problem with black or even the blue text for the icons is with a background image. I have a typical background of Swiss Alps, village, tree, sky. The icon text completely disappears into any dark portions of the screen image. In the past I never had a problem with the white text. Note that on Stardock's Fences page, the advertised text in the Fence(s) is white.
Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. I believe, you referring to those icons label underneath those icons yes? I believe those will always be white. How sure of you that the blue or black is because of Fences? Can you try disable Fences and see if the text revert back to white? If they do or not, please report back.

Thanks. I'm limited as to tech stuff. It's an age thing. What does "Disable" mean and how do I do that? As I mentioned in my initial statement, I think Windows 11 might be a problem as it has caused me and many others online several problems such as not being able to view/read JPG & PDF files.
"Disable" is to unload Fences from running. Which if your issue is Fences related. The issue should go away. To disable Fences, just un-tick that box that I point to as shown on my screenshot above. If you already know there is issue with your Windows 11 setup. It is best to get someone close by to help out your issue.
Thank you,

Problem solved (at least on first try). Appears it was WIN 11 afterall. After clean reload and downloading Fences again, the text is WHITE! Hope it lasts. Many thanks for the efforts to help.
Great, glad to hear that.
I just wanted to add that reinstall is not needed. I just discovered that you need to go to:
System Properties > Performance > Visual Effects > Enable "Use drop shadows for icon labels..."
Without drop shadow it's a black font.
How do I get that screen (the one with Home as 1st item on left)?
Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, you was referring to an old post which on older version of Fences 4. In Fences 5 the "Home" tab was replaced by "Welcome" tab
