It was said that something is in the werks for skinning 11...
ANY news would be greatly appreciated !!!
You are charging.... For work... I am outraged!
It sounds like your line of work is pretty similar to that of a tattoo artist in how you are approaching this. Sounds good to me.
-Best we continue this discussion in Private as Charging for WORK is Very sensitive around here. PM Or e-mail (you know where 2 find me )

Called it 22H2 release preview
22H2 is done and mostly just waiting for the holidays now
Called it 22H2 release preview22H2 is done and mostly just waiting for the holidays now
Looking forward to it later this summer hopefully, going to grab an ISO and do a clean install as soon as it released so i can check out workarounds for needing a MS account to complete the install.
Why not just use a junk email and then switch to "use local account" instead?
I have several fixes to try and use Phoenix, that old chestnut of the Dodgy Junk E Mail is included mate. Going to explore other ways first that do not include entering any E Mail. Now i have to play the waiting game as no idea when the feature update will hit, at least i should be able to grab the ISO soonish, All i know is i will continue to install Windows 11 without the need to enter any account info, that is the plan. Tick Tock hey mate.
Not to mention some of us have no internet UNTIL the OS is installed. I do use my MSA but have no way to log in until after OOBE where I can install software.
As a side note the latest Enterprise ISO still allows offline install. Can't say if that will remain true for the GA release but as of now (well 2 weeks ago when I tried) it still works.
If it makes a difference to you. Microsoft has released ISO's for the latest 22H2 build already.
The actual release of the feature update looks like it was pushed to October. However, I am not convinced you will see one single change (other then regular security updates) between today's release preview and the official October release. It is simply about making money at this point, Microsoft is only waiting for the holidays so new laptops and Computes look more shiny while people Christmas shop.
There was a time when 22H2 was causing a lot of compatibility issues and was breaking start 11 ect. but it is my opinion that those issues are now just a thing of the past. At least with 22H2. However, if you are on the DEV preview builds then buckle up because I expect a lot of problems on that channel.

Cheers Phoenix, is the ISO for 22H2 the final release, ie the same as the one released later this year as i have no interest in Insider Builds mate. It has to be the official one, or others will say this or that.
I am not looking for any major differences Bud, just want to test my workarounds for needing an MS account to complete installation. This is the Doom and Gloom attempt from MS to feck us over even more as per reported by other members in other topics, i just want to do the same to MS by showing, "Every Unpopular Change MS Makes Can Be Negated Using One Method Or An Another.
Yes i agree with what MS intent is over buying new hardware with it's official release date but i will be using the same Machine that MS says in not supported in the same way i have ran Win 11 since day one . I will be the one to Judge when my Still Powerful machine gets new Hardware, Not MS mate.
I do not know for sure. I have seen Microsoft go both ways in regards to moving a release from "release preview" to "release". Sometimes the release preview is the final release and sometimes they have a host of features they are purposely hiding until release.
If there are a few things missing from the current build it would be things that they do not want publicized such as stricter rules for unsupported machines or stricter rules for attached Microsoft accounts, ect. Other things Microsoft has been known to ship with release builds over preview builds is things like additional themes. I can see Widgets having a bigger impact for example.
In regards to actual builds, the current preview is the 22H2 build that will be released in October. 22H2 entered feature complete in May which is a big deal. This is because the preview build in May required a fresh install over what was previously on the insider channel and replaced it with the actual 22H2 build that will be released. If there are any differences between preview and release it will be stuff added into the current build rather then replacing the current build.
Hope that answers what you were asking.

Yes mate, i did go looking for myself and did see it is available to Insiders right now, you have to give up an E Mail for insiders Program, so that is a big No and would be a Stoning offence to some. I was always aware Insiders get new Builds first, that is not for me. 22H2 has been signed off on, but i will need the Official release to prove my theory, but a little longer wait will just throw up more work arounds and fixes for the need to use a MS account to complete install. I never have been in the camp of one feature update over the other and over another, so any big changes in the OS, i have always done clean installs, i am a power user mate, pushing my machine for 10 hours a day, every day, so that always works best for me and keeps my machine running at it's best. I will grab the ISO of 22H2 sooner or later as my machine is considered too low spec to get it through MS Update, but here i am running Win 11 Enterprise on 5 machines, all thought of as crap by MS, something I disagree with.
Back to the topic in hand.
Do we have any clarity over the contradicting comments about WB being in the Oven, and we will hear something soon, to "It Is Not Imminent". Updates about WB11 are good, but not when they contradict each other.
My machine gets 2 or 3 days off each year...otherwise it's working 24/7/365 ....
When I was looking at 'up times' I think the most I saw was somewhere around 276 days ...
Actually they do not contradict. They are phrases that indicate the same thing.
It is happening...except there is no specific time/date declared, as is Stardock's policy with Windowblinds, and always has been...
The phrase "are we there yet?" coming from the back seat of a car doesn't get anyone there quicker....

Actually Jafo i disagree
"We have something in the oven and will have more news fairly soon."
And
"That is not imminent but on the radar."
Not my words but from SD Staff.
I am not some little child in the back seat of any car, Just a paid up member, who along with others is asking "Any News". Please show some respect as i do not appreciate being compared to a child, annoying Parents in the manner you have responded. I have told you in the past i will show you Respect, Kindly do the same.
All the playful banter aside I am curious. I haven't tried WB10 on a W11 install. What, in particular, is actually broken? I am aware that Start11 does not fully support WB10 and I feel fairly confident that will be addressed in WB11 but I'm not certain of any other areas within W11 that are broken.
Could someone who has tried it in W11 inform me? I simply don't have the time (for the foreseeable future) to spend on it.
The biggest problem was Explorer Windows crashing each time they were opened and for some crash after crash in loops.
Explorer Patcher did solve this using WB10 on Win 11 but as per my earlier comments there was a small transparent line down the side of skinned explorer windows. It was an aesthetic thing allowing normal use and function. I do think Phoenix reported an update to Start 11 may have changed it's ability to work, check with him to be sure.
"I'm not certain of any other areas within W11 that are broken."
Win 11 seems fine, WB 10 was not intended , due to the changes listed above, to work on Win 11.
He is not wrong. I actually spent months avoiding the "windowblinds 11 planning" section because the crowd seemed rough and unaccepting of new ideas outside of their regular group. Hopefully, we can learn to communicate better so new people can feel more comfortable joining in with wincustimizations and feel comfortable asking question without fear of scorn.
The things that do not work are
*Start 11 / windows 11 taskbar
*Explorer's command bar
*Microsoft store apps full screen button
*Transparency effects
Did I get them all?
I See. So using WB10 on W11 would be quite jarring indeed. I'm still on W10 and will be until 22H2 releases. However most of these issues seem to be ones that could be easily addressed in WB11. It just hasn't happened yet. I am pretty confident they will be whenever WB11 is released.
Most of the issues should be pretty easy. The one issue that looks to be the most difficult is reintegrating transparency. A lot of us that were using Windowblinds 10 on Windows 11 had no luck figuring a out workaround. Even Neil stated earlier that the transparency stopped working due to changes Microsoft made with Windows 11.
Transparency has been an issue since DWM was gutted in W8.1 I'm convinced that every version of WB will need to work around it going forward as MSFT doesn't seem to care. i.e. SD is going to need to implement it themselves and of course work around issues every time MSFT decides removing/not supporting something is a good idea which looks to be a lot.
While it is indeed more work im still confident SD can do it. I only hope they don't decide to give up on it anytime soon.
Devs are aware and i am sure (but have not seen anything yet) WB 11 will fix this. Actually i am hoping for lots of new features, and maybe some updated older features.
I am one of those guys who when some one says "It Can Not Be Done" Peaks my interest, i research things, change things, Experiment a little here and there until i have something that works. Not long after doing numerous testing on Using WB10 on Win 11, got it working published my findings in screen shots in the forum . I then move on to the next Experiment.
I am not advising any one to experiment on there everyday Computer as things can go wrong, but as i have set up a 4 SSD Multi Booting System (half using Win10, half using Win11) and several older laptops, i can afford to walk my own path doing this kind of stuff. I only recommend you trying these things if you have a second SSD or spare older machine.
I am the same way. I have a room full of computers but as a dev myself what I don't have is time usually. I have several large scale projects that somehow I just became the maintainer for in addition to my own projects. I did consider testing it under a VM just to get a feel for what does/doesn't work but figured many folks here already had.
I also believe SD will have a solution at some point. Personally I think it wont be until 2023 but I'm ok with that. They may have some early betas sooner only SD knowns for sure. At this point I would rather they take their time as anything "rushed" almost always turns out worse for wear. Then they would be flooded with complaints about this or that not working etc...
Amen to that Phoenix.
I am a man of lets say, Older Years. I too find the crowd unaccepting, but i am going nowhere. Even when you offer up something that may be Game changing, or something that allows some members to overcome this MS problem or another issue they have, they have to pick fault. It seems like only some ideas and opinions only count and matter, if you belong to "The Crowd"
I will contribute to any topic i feel i have a Valid Opinion to comment on, Regardless.
I offer every member respect, and i should be allowed the same, if you do not like me, fine, but do not think you can speak to me like a little child without being called out, Moderators uphold rules, and should set examples, not insult members in the way they talk or respond to you, PERIOD.
