between now and 4/26, what would it be? Think of something that is relatively simple and could almost certainly be fixed and tested in a very short time span.
For me it would be how hostiles spawn during map generation. Right now, if you choose "Rare" you get one of each type (space monster, pirate, and precursor sentinel) in each sector. To me that it is way too much. I think "Rare" should have only one of each type in the galaxy, "Uncommon" should have one in each sector, "common" 2, and "abundant" 3. Does anyone really want to have more than 3 in a sector?
I assess that the combat-related issues are too complicated and interconnected to resolve in a week. I was really talking about quick fixes.
And yet combat is central to the whole game, but is a total mess with completely hidden mechanics and numbers.
The impending release date should not be an excuse to ignore this. Indeed, this should be reason to delay the release.
Yeah, a better Growth tooltip, a better Food tooltip and being able to Ctrl+Click the sentry button to set guard are all things I want too.

A couple of things:
- Different icon for resources you are currently extracting (is hard to find which you are not on a zoomed out view).
- When selecting a pop spec (farmer/scientist/etc) show the appropriate stat value on the button (right now you have to go back and forth to the tooltip).- Allow minimizing events. Several times I didn't have the money for an option and really wanted to be able to access the market to sell some stuff.
The click blockers are a bit of a nightmare, particularly when things get a bit laggy and the framerate drops. And those lists keep resetting their vertical scroll position on every click and the list filtering is terrible. Trying to use the UI for any practical ends isn't possible. In a game with only 3 worlds and 5 ships it's fine, but that's the first 20 minutes of play time, after that the UI becomes useless. I'm uncertain why scaling the universe was a goal but not scaling the UI controls. Also document the currency of the modding features please, particularly non destructive atomic modifications.Also spawn ship building starbases on a persistent trajectory, like south east of the planet, sometimes they spawn to the left or right or above and there's no hope of even seeing those, let alone clicking on them with those huge janky planet banners. I play overhead angle only as it helps mitigate some of these problems marginally. Why are those banners even interactive? they occupy play space arrrrgh. lol
Actually the only thing I'd change is their (same old) battle viewer. I come from a background of Imperium Galactica II and the over-the-should battle view that game used (as well as 3rd player mmo's use) would be so helpful here. As it is now it's not really possible because if you manly go there what you're fighting is out of view and you have no sound (aka it doesn't zoom out enough but keep the battle sounds and splashings going).
The rest? Golden . A great update to the series.
