Maybe it's just me, but it seems like missiles are the best due to high dmg and the long range attack ability. kinetic seems to be worst because it's got the high cost of missiles, the low dmg of beams, and doesnt equal up to the other 2 until you've done a lot of research and gotten a lot of thullium.
Does anyone else have a good stratagy for using the other weapon types first? i know yor get kinetic boost, and some commander ships increase certain fleet attacks, but beyond that is everyone finding missile to just be the best?
Either way, is this something people care about?
XML? What is this, 2009? My industry was tethered to XML for over a decade and I haven't touched an XML file in years.
The real issue is that you can't encode mechanics in configuration files. Magic numbers? Sure. But what we're really asking for is for weapon types to have unique mechanics and that stuff has to be coded in the first place.
Idgaf what method they use to expose the data. So long as it is exposed and organized to be modded efficiently. XML works a dream in Rimworld along with C coding for new functionality.
