Just to add, I also ran the purge script and the Quick settings are cut off when the taskbar is on top. It seems to be a bug, nothing to do with files not being replaced.
Was it cut off before?
Hello,
'Taskbar not combining' works not always. If it doesn't works I have to go to Start11 config -> taskbar and set first 'always' then 'never' and then it works usualy until next Windows 11 start.
It's fine when on the bottom however cut off when moved to the top. Even with 1.11 it's been cut off.
Just to report another bug, with my Surface Pro 7 on Windows 11 Build 22000.556 while the taskbar buttons work with the touchscreen, system tray icons from 3rd party applications don't. After pressing them a few times, they sometimes to react but the behavior is unpredictable. For example with my system tray icon for 1Password, after pressing a few times, the application will open, but touching in the window no matter what will invoke the on screen keyboard until I use the mouse to interact. I've also had explorer crash over and over while trying to interact with system tray icons using touch. This hasn't just happened with 1Password, I also use a third party OpenVPN client called Viscosity and that icon isn't responsive in touch mode. This is not an issue with the stable version of Start11 nor is it an issue when not using Start11.
Having a variation of the problem where all my icons would disappear, on 1.17 now with the never combine option enabled the whole taskbar completely disappears
Will do some more checking in the morning and post results
Also I want to report that the fix for min/restoring delphi apps by clicking taskbar button does not work.
Please check the signing date on Start10_64.dll is 24th March as I believe that was resolved. The issue with those apps and respecting multmonitor taskbars will remain as it is a design flaw in the Delphi framework for older versions of Delphi.
By whole taskbar do you mean the entire bar vanishes or just the taskbar buttons?
Hello! For some reason my second monitor's taskbar won't display correctly in small taskbar mode, it seems the taskbar will remain medium while everything else will be small size, shown here:Also, an additional thing I noted is that when I press the Windows key while on my second monitor, the start menu and taskbar will pop up as normal. However, the taskbar will still auto-hide when it should remain up. This doesn't happen on the primary monitor, just the secondary.
My Windows version is 21H2, build 22000.556
Thank you!
Is anyone else experiencing the start menu floating when there is any kind of resizing of the screen? I have seen this issue since launch and previously reported it but am still seeing the issue.
Video of this would be appreicated.

Yes that is the correct date.
I am aware of the delphi issues with the taskbar button. In my case I simply fixed the issue. I have the source and a newer Borland delphi. I fixed the problem so that the following is true.
1. There is now only one TL Window with precisely one taskbar button.
2. The button moves to each taskbar as the main app is moved to different monitors (both w10 and w11 -Start11)
3. On w10 with Start11 1.15 non beta everything works including min/restore from the TB button.
4. On w11 with Start11 1.17 beta the TB button follows the window but does NOT min/restore.
5. On w11 -Start11 Everything works fine.
Its only w11 with Start11 (beta or not) where only the min/restore fails. Since i've rebuilt it (had to learn delphi quick meh crappy language) moving works now.
An interesting note: GCC4TI now works flawlessly with groupy. In fact if I set it to only show a single button it WILL min/restore.
Edit: If I minimize the window from the caption button I can restore it with the Taskbar button just not minimize it. Also it appears that all windows animate towards the start button on the left despite the buttons being centered.
The whole bar is gone

In fact it seems like the start 11 taskbar part of the program has stopped, if I click the area where the menu button "should be" I get the default Win 11 menu pop up not start 11

seems like its stopping Start 11 in some way although I can still access the settings as seen in the screenshot and set it to off and the taskbar is back
EDIT> Sorry this was me missing whats right in front of me, the Taskbar has just popped to the top of my screen but does appear to be working as intended (apart from being at the top of the screen).
All I need to do is pop it back to the bottom of the screen
EDIT 2 > popping it back to the bottom seems to stop the taskbar working and I am once again back to the win 11 default menu, sure I have seen this mentioned so going back for a reread of the thread
can anyone tell me how to get a taskbar overlay app like https://github.com/zhongyang219/TrafficMonitor to work after i turn on always on top in traffic monitor it shows in taskbar and then if start 11 is launched with taskbar setting on it disappears
I am afraid the way that tool works isn't compatible with Start11 taskbar enhancements as it does not know how many taskbar items exist and is positioned under the Start11 taskbar button area anyway. It also does not appear to be compatible with the latest beta versions of Windows 11 either with buttons overlapping the information.
I suspect it also breaks on all Windows 11 versions if you have enough pinned apps / running apps as it cannot allocate any space for the button and so things would overlap it.
Also, an additional thing I noted is that when I press the Windows key while on my second monitor, the start menu and taskbar will pop up as normal. Go to the taskbar settings in Start11, scroll down to taskbar size. Set it to medium and then back to small. Then restart explorer.
Does that fix it?
Thats assuming you are using 1.17 (check about page)

Are any other apps other than your modified version of GCC4TI having this issue as I have tested the original version and newer delphi apps (TotalCommander and PSPad) and neither show this problem with minimizing.
Did you simply rebuild the code in the new delphi or did you make actual code changes?

No so far I haven't seen it with any other apps. I only really have a few installed and of course the 1st party apps. I did make several changes. In the original version there's the TApplication top level window. This is the one that gets the taskbar button. The main IDE window is simply owned by the application window. The app window is a 0x0 window that doesn't move so its button never changes taskbars.
I made this window a WS_EX_TOOLWINDOW and added WS_EX_APPWINDOW to the IDE's window. Other changes made were for things like the Editor and other UI elements (toolbar etc..) but nothing more for the taskbar.
I'll have another go at it and see if I missed something however it seems odd that it works fine in w10 and w11 as long as I turn off "let s11 enhance taskbar". With it on everything works except the restore.
I'll report back if I find anything. It is very possible since up until about 4 days ago I've really only looked at delphi for maybe 30 minutes.
I suspect I know whats up there then. It is probably seeing the weird relationship between the windows still and trying to workaround delphi when it doesn't need to if the window itself has been added to the taskbar vs its owner.
EDIT : Having altered that editor here in that way it continues to work just fine. Are you able to send us over the modified exe?
Yes that's probably it. I tried a number of other attempts. However I did notice some strange behavior. I have been comparing to the original ide.exe and I noticed that when i open the old one a button pops up on the TB then vanishes only for a different one to popup and it too then vanishes. With the old IDE the end result is no button at all. with my new build i'm left with the button from the visible Form.
I can send the new ide to you which email should i use?
I installed the latest build this AM and as of now, I can confirm that the pinned icons 'movement' sensitivity appears to be corrected. (I'll post additional feedback if other issues arise.)
Maybe I missed it, however is there a changelog for everything that was fixed in this build?
Thanks!
The first reply on this thread lists the changes for 1.16 and 1.17 https://forums.stardock.com/510929/page/1/#3842268
Another thing i did not notice is one of the companion apps TiEmu which is the emulator the IDE uses also does the same thing. It's written in C and uses GTK. I have not changed that at all. It does the same thing where the button will restore but not minimize it.
you can get it here:
http://www.calcforge.org:70/downloads/tiemu-3.02a/tiemu-3.02a-win32-setup.exe
Most likely its the same problem. Im trying to see if i can find any other apps that do the same thing.
EDIT.
TiEmu only does it when it was launched by GCC4TI if I run it directly (link in the start menu) it works fine.
