Thank you for your interest and any time you put into making Start11 a better product.
The second option is not possible as unlike other products we retain the Windows 11 taskbar rather than using leftover code in explorer for the Windows 10 taskbar and changes in the OS that are coming soon will make this more complicated for putting the start button in the centre so we didn't want to advertise a feature and then lose it later. Our method allows us to retain the feel of the taskbar and all the new features it offers.
There is a small incompatibility with Tiles, the taskbar doesn't go all the way to the right when Tiles is running(I know Tiles 2 status is still TBD with windows 11)
Ok, thank you
HP Zbook 15v G5 - not a touchscreen
The same thing is happening on my pc, but I actually prefer it that way!
That would indeed appear to be a bug. Will get that sorted.
However once I enable to taskbar setting and choose never combine I seem to lose all my icons even after an explorer refresh and windows reboot, Uninstall and reisntall has not resolved this
The only way I can see any icons after that is to disable the taskbar and restart explorer.
Which version of Windows 11 are you using?
Using the most up to date version ..hang on
Windows 11 Pro Version 21H2 (OS build 22000.556)
Windows 11 Home 21H2 22000.556
Start11 v1.16 - Modern style
Let Start11 enhance the taskbar - on
Taskbar buttons should be combined - tried all three options
I have an application pinned to the Taskbar that has no internal icon so I link an external icon file under the application properties.
The linked icon does not display when 'Let Start11 enhance the taskbar' is on. You see the icon for a second after clicking [Restart explorer] and then it disappears.
You can control this behavior by turning 'Let Start11 enhance the taskbar' on (no icon) or off (icon displays).
Hello ! using version 1.16 i have a problem when i enable "enhance taskbar" feature and taskbar size set to small. Pictures bellow speak for themself.
Windows 11 version 22000.576Resolution : 3840x2160@120hzScale : 225%
With "enhance tb" :
problem with horizontal alignment it seems.
Without "enhance TB" :
All is ok.
Have no problem excepting that, everything is perfect. dreamed software for Win11.
Thank you very much !
Great software - two small issues...

Clicking the time and date doesn't bring up the calendar, nothing happens. Clicking the audio and network icon works fine.
After seeing this post, I tried and, indeed, I have the same problem, the date/calendar/notification bar doesn't appear at all when clicking on the clock..
apologies if I missed a reference to this somewhere, but I did see this question asked several months ago, and I don't see any current answers:
Any plans to add the capability to allow the taskbar to be multiple rows? I used that all the time and really miss it! thx.
if I click on the calendar the relative fly out window opens on the left where I have the Start button or not at all all, and the icon of the notification center has disappeared
In testing we have not been able to reproduce this or explain it.
Which menu style are you using and which search mode (Start11, Start10 or use Windows Search?)
You can do this with the current beta. If you enable the option to enhance the taskbar you can drag the taskbar up to multiple rows assuming you have not locked it (right click on the taskbar to show a menu to show locked state)
I assume that when running the correct icon does appear?
Quoting Jim Byram,

Didn't try that.
'Let Start11 enhance the taskbar' is off - icon from icon file appears
'Let Start11 enhance the taskbar' is on - generic icon appears
'Let Start11 enhance the taskbar' is on and click to start the program - generic icon disappears from the taskbar and there is a blank where the icon should be. Click on the blank area (while the program is running) and the generic icon reappears.
Close the program and click on the generic icon to restart the program and the generic icon remains on the taskbar... no blank area on the second run.

What program is this?
The taskbar is completely unresponsive to touch and that is the only thing stopping me from using it on my surface pro. I'm hoping this will be fixed in the next build.
We are aware and know whats wrong. Side effect of fixing the right click menu to work with touch.
You can expect that to be fixed for the next build, sorry about that.
would it be possible to add exclude/include taskbar buttons based on window class? It would help fix my issue with gcc4ti

Thanks for the reply. Any idea when the next build will be published? Ungrouping taskbar icons is such a nice feature to have again.

I realize that programs without an embedded icon are unusual.
When running Windows 11 version 22000.588
The described methods sound very good. But, I am not seeing this behavior on Windows 11. I do see the option "allow taskbar to be resized" but when clicked to "yes" the only thing that changes is the mouse effect near the resize area. The actual taskbar does not seem to change. Also I am not seeing a change in the size of tabs as the menu becomes full nor am I seeing the scrollbar. The overflow of tabs just aren't present at all.
Did I miss a setting, or is this a bug my end or something that is going to be implemented in the future?
