Thank you for your interest and any time you put into making Start11 a better product.
This is a Windows 11 beta/dev channel issue, since it happens to me on a PC that does not have Start11 installed.
I just tested this, I can confirm it happens on Build 22000.556.
Just installed 1.17, Win 10 mode. I added a couple of fences from my desktop to the start bar, noticed they didn't collapse, and I could not see the second one, so I deleted one, but cannot delete the first one I added. I see the confirmation prompt appear very quickly and then go away along with the startbar.
Alienware m15 Laptop, Windows 11 Pro 21H2 22000.556
I'm now using 1.17 beta and wonder if my problem described in Post #134 will be fixed in a following beta version or in version 1.2?
In 1.17 the problem is still existing.
Hi there,
The taskbar ungrouping is superb!!! Thank you so much for implementing this!
I am having a type size issue on the start screen tiles (the ones without custom images). Some of the longer single line tile names have the last letter cut off; and in general the type is a bit too big for my taste - on two line tile names, the top line hits the icon image (see images below). I am on a 4K monitor (two actually), so this might be contributing to the problem.
Windows display scaling is set at 150%
Start11 settings:Windows 10 Style Start MenuTile size: MediumType size: 120%The tile size and the type size seem interrelated - if I make the type size smaller (say set it back to 100%), the tiles get smaller. If I then make the tiles bigger (go from Medium to Large) to get the tile size I want, the type gets bigger too.
Let me know if there is any more info I can provide.
Minor glitch. I noticed a couple times when I clicked on the start button it didn't respond. Easily reproduced.
With taskbar enhancements enabled, start button is in lower left corner, approach the start button on the right monitor from the left and from the left monitor, and click. Doesn't respond.
Beta Version 1.17
Expanding on this... In fact none of the task bar buttons on the right monitor taskbar respond until you exit the taskbar area and return to it.
Hi, I would imagine that the issue that I'm having is related to this issue. For websites installed as Chrome Progressive Web Apps (PWA), the icons on the taskbar are regular Chrome icons instead of the ones belonging to the appropriate PWA.
The Chrome Icon on the left is my regular Chrome installation, and the Chrome icon on the right is the PWA for Messages for Web. This also happens for other Chrome PWAs.
Stardock,
Could you please bring back the Win10 option to always show all taskbar icons rather than having to go into "taskbar corner overflow" and enabling each individually. Even MS can't do this right as every time you update an app you have to re-enable it.
Thanks
Are these pinned?
Also you seem to use grouped mode? What happens if you are in ungrouped mode?
Just to confirm, hidden taskbar does now work again in v1.17, but the prior problem remains in that if the mouse cursor is in the area of the system tray, the taskbar does not pop up.
The other previous issues also remain regarding scrolling after opening a folder group, thumnail icon order, and menu icons for some programs such as iCloud.
+1 for meWindows 11 21H2 OS Build 10.0.22000.556Cheers,Chris
FWIW this is still an issue for me as of Start11 v1.17beta
Cheers,Chris.
+1
Had to go back to EP for taskbar support,Start11 taskbar management crashes explorer at least once a day, usually when alt-tabbing out of FSE games.
FWIW this is still an issue for me as of Start11 v1.17betaCheers,Chris.
Uninstall, reboot, reinstall as it sounds like the files were not replaced correctly.
The issue was resolved in 1.17 and was caused by having multiple monitors and having Windows set to only show one taskbar or using DisplayFusion to provide secondary monitor taskbar.
Are there any events in event log showing the explorer crashes?
I am also still having this problem and currently using the Taskbar enabled on both displays as a workaround, but would really prefer taskbar only on main monitor
Have tried uninstallling and reinstalling and restarting explorer but this still occurs if I go to one monitor only.
Occasionally after the laptop has been in hibernate or asleep while connected to external monitors, when it awakes again the task bar is at the top of the screen rather than the bottom and the start menu button doesnt work. I have to disable Start11 and relaunch explorer to restore functionality, then turn Start11 back on...
Are you using 1.16 or 1.17 as 1.17 should have resolved that.
Are you using WinDBG to capture them? If so, could you post a shared link to a cloud service upload you have done?

Hi guys.
Would you be able to do 2 things for us pls ?1. Make a taskbar size between small and medium? To me medium is too thick and small is too thin(with small the date in the right corner is not shown properly as it's partially hidden)
2. Can you make the taskbar to function the way that if you have stuff opened there(chrome etc), and you have your mouse pointer at the bottom of the window you can't click on it as if you were clicking below it. Basically can you extent the size of the "items" on the taskbar so it fill the taskbar all the way to the bottom, the same way as the start button?
Gabriel
Start 11 v1.17, Windows 11 22000.556, Windows 10 style taskbar - issues with the Start, Widget and Search buttons on a Surface Laptop Studio- the buttons are responsive to touch input when using fingers, but not when using the Surface Pen. All's ok if "Let Start11 enhance the taskbar" is disabled
Are the taskbar buttons themselves ok?
