How to tell which version you are on?
0.81 Changelog
IDEA: An artifact that allows you to take control of a space monster nest and all of its creatures. Maybe put it behind a defended artifact?
Slarjy - I think what you’re asking for a ready exists
+5 Loyallty for ?????
Graphic settings still make no sense, i'm on a 43" screen in 4k and i've set the GalCiv GUI setting to 4k but the icons / text over planets completely obscure any ship building facilities that happen to randomly spawn to the side or above the planet, any that spawn below are generally ok so long as another planet isn't also there. If i set the GUI to mid range the text / planets are much better but then the rest of the actual management GUI's are wrecked in a multitude of ways, like you have a mix of settings and it just can't figure out what to use so scroll bars overflow the container they're in and background images are suddenly very low res. Is there to way to actually set the font-size? as it seems it's related to that. All the menu icons at the top right are completely broken, as is the leftmost planet descriptor item which merges / overlays with the next item in line. I'm sure you're aware of these issues, since they've been in every version i've seen so far, but after hundreds of hours it's getting a bit tedious. So far I've not found a graphic setting that works properly. Is this being looked at? It'd be funny to discover it was just me and some crazy setting like "utterly smash all reasonable display norms"
I'm getting per turn CTD's now, turn 237, seems to be random, but i persevered in the hope i could narrow it down. I think it _could_ be when a pirate ship attacks a survey ship in a hostile region. It also happened just now when i used one of those same survey ships to attack a pirate ship manually. Can happen either automatically or manually.
I tried looking for game logs so i could figure out what scripted event was the last to emit but can't seem to find them. I've started a confluence path page for GalCiv4, if you're able to tell me where logs are that'd be great. I _am_ using the GC4 Test Version so thought that 'd have them. Unless you're just exclusively exporting them remotely, which is a bit sneaky, plz save copy locally if they're not already
Documents\My Games\GalCiv4\debug.err may be what you want. A new version of the file is written every time you start a game, so check it before starting a new game.
I think the word credits should follow the amount.
This needs more information about the starbase, such as its name.
Other conversations that involve a starbase have {OBJECTNAME} after starbase to give its name. Here is an example:
<Text>Your starbase {OBJECTNAME} is a direct threat to our interests. We demand that you remove it at once.</Text>
The exact same conversation in the screenshot exists in GalCiv3. I tried to "fix" it with a mod that added {OBJECTNAME}, but it didn't work. Can something be done to make it give more information?
EDIT
Today (Sunday), I was lucky to get the conversation I referenced above. Here is what it looks like in the game.
Bugs (?):- Planet list: not enough place for planets with 5 times 2 digits- Support Field Stabilization (Starbase range +2): can be applied at some starbases but not at all - needs either bug fix or better descriptionFeedback:- I like the invasion screen. It gives a much better inside how invasions work - Loading a transport: maybe you want to give citizens with highest resolve value a red highlight- First Invasion video: it looks pretty nice but is so short - I finished Hall of Unity. I got my 50 points. What I miss: some kind of information (pop up). I do not know if there was a notification
Don't know if this is how Drive System Optimization (Capstone) is supposed to work, but it doesn't add a +2 to my ships after the 1st time I use it. If it's not a stackable technology why does it keep showing up? At the very least it should say it's not stackable.
Twas wondering about this myself!
Some observations for 0.81 Beta (overall the game feels good )
Starbase DONE button sometimes almost always has to be pushed twice or three times to act.
Hoovering from FIRE tooltip to GIFT tooltip - the area of the FIRE tooltip is not visible for the GIFT tooltip.
Diplomacy Screen -> Add trade available icon info on portraits (like in the list in the bar on the right side).
Tech selection frame not properly reset in available list and trade window. See the highlighted techs.
I’m missing the possibility to show only ships of a specific faction (for example when in war with a faction).
OK I'll take your word for it. I haven't seen it myself yet. I've gotten multiple artifacts of other types but maybe the issue is that the AI is stealing all of the defended artifacts before I can get to them.
Bugs:- Living Ships and Battle Viewer. So Living Ships does work. But during the battle one of my ships gets redder and redder (that is true for GC3 too) but in the tooltip of this ship the hp gets lower and lower. The effect of tactical repair is not transparent. In GC3 you can follow it through the tooltip. The "damaged" ship is full life after battle btw- Bioplastics got the symbol of manufacturing but belongs to planetery- Baratak got immune to culture flipping but I still get a diplo malus for their planets in my culture zoneFeedback:- Altarians. I love that Ascension Crystals give more research while advancing technologically. Also this civ buff is a base value and so it really matters regardless of high multipliers. Or even better: it gives a positive synergy!
