I know I've asked this a few times in different threads and on discord but I feel its a vital change that GC4 needs (it was needed in GC3 as well but with the added complexity of ideology I think its even more important in GC4).
We need to be able to minimize events so we can make an informed decision. I'm not a developer and I get this may not be an easy change but I think its vital (I even recall Brad mentioning it in the forums as being important).
Devs, if we could get an answer on whether this is a possible change or not that would be great.
Thanks.

Amplitude has minimized events screens in Endless Space I think it's time Stardock implemented this "feature" as well...
It's been needed ever since there were events in the Gal Civ series... which I think is always. I mentioned this in a recent GCIV beta feedback thread I made (for the same reason i.e. informed decision making) and probably mentioned it in YouTube videos I made for GC3 numerous times. Hopefully Gal Civ IV will be the first GC game to make this highly desirable change.
It's literally the most common feature request, even above the battle viewer. I've been told it is on the roadmap.
Probably not going to happen anytime soon. But the work to add this is being considered in the future. It will require special code to make it work and not lead to unforseen consequences.
Good to hear its being considered. I appreciate there are complexities from a code perspective but please don't underestimate what big positive change it would bring to the game.
Thanks,
I second this! It is incredibly important for this to be possible. I wouldn't even call it a feature to be added, more a fault that it can't be done yet.
I can't comment on the difficulties of adding it, but I can comment on the prevalence of being able to do so for all other strategy games that are less than 10 years old. You would think it would be standard practice by now.
If ideology system stays almost like it is I highly recommend to give more ideology related information during events. We would need a warning if a choice would change the dominant ideology of an ideology pair and how many citizens/leaders/civs would like/hate it.
Thank you for adding this request to your list of "Things that need some TLC"
