I have searched the forums for an answer and most of the tech heads assume things about your system and tell you to reinstall or update or something else that does not freaking work.
I do not have time to mess with this and I am going to ditch this crap as it now cannot function properly.
I set the checkbox to not readjust and it still does.
NONE of the solutions here work.
Its buggy and I will not promote or buy into software that cannot behave.
I have had a good 3 years of it where it was fine and now its frustrating that after I reboot all my stuff is bunched up on another monitor.
The software will not easily uninstall either.
Why did you have to change it to make the user experience (shit)?????
The best place to uninstall any program will always be in the file folder itself. This can be easily found by left clicking the shortcut and selecting open file location. Then click the uninstall program that came with the software.
OK now I am really pissed off!!!
I Need to know how to freaking uninstall this POS software!
It failed in the control panel and I have tried the directory and that failed too.
I can't delete it cause windows says its running!
I cannot find it in the task manager!
Tell me how to remove this crap....
I do not have the time to waste messing with this crap!!!
Its already taken 1 hour of my time to find that its locked into my system by some sort of Hook.
You can disable Fences by clicking enable fences so it is uncheck marked
Took me 2 hours to get rid of this hack job of an application.
All of the stuff here that some suggest would not work. I am not a novice computer user.
I had worked in IT before. However the way they locked it in to the system you literally have to jump through hoops to eliminate it.
I am tired of things getting crippled.
It did work for the first 2 years then something changed and I even tried to upgrade but the problem still did not get resolved.
NOTHING and I mean Nothing suggested here on the forms would correct the problem.
So now I am angry and do not want it on my system. Its too late for a refund but I just don't give a crap now.
Keep your buggy junk I will take my business elsewhere.
For apps and other items that you may have a problem removing from your computer , there is a nice little app you can Google , it's called LockHunter 3.3 , it's a FREE app and I've used it dozens of times to get rid of stubborn stuff on my computer. After install , just right click on any stubborn file or folder and in the drop down menu you will see an entry that says " What's Locking this Folder? " click on it and follow it's directions. Easy-Peezy.

A person who once worked in 'IT' would know that by far the most issues new to a system are the fault of the Windows Update process introducing new problems with compatibility.
Other issues are from forgotten user updates/added software.
If a program works in an OS for 2 years without fault then it cannot be called "buggy junk".
As with all Shell enhancements by definition they need to hook into the OS intimately, exactly as Explorer.exe does itself.
Unchecking "Enable Fences" is quite a simple procedure if/when you have destabilized your OS [or Microsoft did it for you]...
I would never uninstall anything using in built windows tools, always found it best and more thorough to use a dedicated uninstaller like IoBit Free as it removes all kinds of crap left over in the registry that windows tools does not.
RevoUninstaller do the same. I allready easly uninstalled Fences with it.
+1
Major issues using Fences with either multiple monitors and/or desktops. Move a fence then they all disappear.
Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. I don't think they disappear, if you move it beyond the screen. That Fence might just move to a new Fences Desktop. You can learn how to navigate Fences desktop or just disable it. Or you can do the layout snapshot restore.
ThanksBasj,Stardock Community Assistant.
Yes, restore is the only way around it, although it doesn't bring back all of the Fences.
It is best to save a layout snapshot everytime you made changes on your Fences. So you have a fall back point. From my experience Fences don't just disappear. You can always check if a Fence is still exist in you system, if you browse the Fences list here.
Thank you,
